2024-25 US Pairs Discussion - Triple-Twisting Through Tornado Alley

I mean the minimum usually IS or it ISN'T. There is usually no workarounds but then again this is USFSA......

I'm really glad they were added however ☺️
True, this is the USFSA and they do what they want to do :0)

Remember the pairs team that did not compete at the NQS last year but, like a mushroom, miraculously sprouted at the US Pairs finals? Who said you need to do NQS to qualify for sectionals/Pairs Finals? LOL

And the ISP pairs team that never even got the minimum scores in any of their competitions, including nationals? You'd think that if they got the required minimum scores through video submission that they'd at least get the ISP minimums in any of their succeeding competitions. But nope, never got the minimum ever until the pair team split up. Granted they never got sent anywhere outside of the country.

Senior entries - likely Digerness/Sadusky and one of the other teams not at Champs Camp this week. Korytek/Chapman, Fredette/Siianytsia, Fitzpatrick/Bearinger, Mokhovs, Hanns/Neudecker - any others I'm missing?

I've seen IG posts from McBeath/Parkman, Martins/Bedard, and Shin/Nagy indicating they're invited/traveling or already in Boston today.

Also of note, Addyson McDanold/Aaron Felberbaum were added to the ISP today.

Finally have the Challenger Entries for John Nicks IPC!

Why are Hanns/Neudecker (Non ISP) going but Fitzpatrick/Bearinger (ISP) not? I thought that was the whole point of why fitz/bearin got on ISP.
Wellllllll... If they've gone back to WASA (which we have no confirmation of) then they've got some political pull behind them getting a Challenger that no Peterson team gets without busting down the doors.

I'll be curious to see which Jr teams are entered. Both Flores/Wang and Moss/Galbavy are at JGP Latvia the week before and Carpenter/Maravilla are at JGP Czechia that week, so I'd be surprised if any of those three are competing, but there are some other junior teams I think could "added" to the ISP in time to compete here.

According to a source that sometimes skates there- they are definitely at Monument with Laureano Ibarra/Dalilah (she can't teach but she choreographed both programs before she was banned and is the team 'advisor' ;)

I asked what their music is this season and it is
SP - Lose Control by Teddy Swims
FS- Fix You by Coldplay

Well, the only explanation that I can think for the USFS not assigning FitzBear to John Nicks IPC and letting HanNeu compete there instead circles back to the obvious top team that ISN'T assigned to John Nicks - PlaFern. They share coaches with FitzBear so maybe we'll see both of those teams assigned to Lombardia, which is the week after (entries are due tomorrow so we should see those next week sometime). There's zero point in putting them in the ISP if you don't have any intention of assigning them to any internationals.

Hope that it's true 🙏 Fitz/Bear seem to be training really hard from their IG

What happened to the Mokhov siblings pairs team? Have they moved on? I enjoyed their My Fair Lady FP last year.

Simultaneous with the Junior Cup in Milwaukee, there was a monitoring/assessment of several junior pair teams complete with panel of judges. Scores, however, were not made public. From that assessment, Elizabeth Hansen and William Church did really well; hence, they've been added to the ISP and are getting a JGP assignment

So, they're one of the teams assigned to JGP Turkey?

Any idea which other junior teams were monitored?

I watched the soundless stream for Cup of Colorado - I missed McDanold/Felberbaum because the stream stopped. I randomly checked back in after the juniors were done and saw it was back up so I saw the seniors.

Digerness/Sadusky - nice program, they have some personality. Decent 3tw, issue with their SBS 3s with a step-out, excellent throw 3s. Score was a fair - maybe a bit generous from an international panel but reasonable for what they delivered. Natalia was at the boards with them @AngieNikodinovLove (ANL).

Hanns/Neudecker - crashy 3tw, he fell on their SBS jumps, decent throw 3s. The program was pretty bland and generic otherwise. I really don't understand why they're entered at John Nicks IPC. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I've seen Insta stories showing Felberbaum at that monitoring wearing full costume with Addyson. Baylen and Jared were invited but their team imploded at the Jump on It/Pairs camp. I will check who else was there, but mostly Chicago-based pairs

Does anyone know what happened to Floyd/Lewis (novice pairs) at the Cup of Colorado? Why did they get only a 3.4 score in the short? Seems like they did only one element and stopped

Are we thinking Shin/Nagy and Plazas/Fernandez may be showing up on the Lombardia or Nebelhorn roster(s) since they aren't doing the mini-US Nationals that is the John Nick's challenger?

I think Plazas/Fernandez and Fitzpatrick/Bearinger are more likely since they share the same coaching team than Shin/Nagy, but I'll be happy if I'm proven wrong.

I'm honestly a little surprised that Shin/Nagy aren't entered at John Nicks because there are a couple of other Oakville teams there (Nagaoka/Moriguchi and Schaller/Mayr - who split their time between Oakville & Salzburg).
