Why in the heck is Kendricks even competing at the Trials if he "hates" the Olympics? He sounds like a total jacka$$ in that clip.

He probably has to compete here to satisfy his sponsor (I’m pretty sure that one is Nike). What’s also crazy about this is that I bet Nike has it its contract with Kendricks that they will “reduce their payments” to him if he misses certain achievements like competing at global championships or competing at a certain number of competitions per year.

Kendricks, IMHO, has always come across as a “Aw shucks, I’m a douche” to me.

Update: Noah Lyles is expected to be joined by Snoop Dogg in his walk-in to Hayward Field today and will reveal what’s in that briefcase he’s been carrying all season. ?

I just hope Lyles realizes how awkward all this will be if he ends up not making the team today. Or have a false start. Or not even make the final. ?

I mean that's always a risk for any of these people might as well have some fun while you're at it

True, but I think the hype Noah and Sha'Carri have gotten will only be satisfied if they get an OGM in the 100m in Paris. Problem is, Marcel Jacobs ?? is starting to look better and better since Europeans. And then there’s the Jamaican ?? women.

Even in the 200m, which is Lyles’ better event, it wouldn’t surprise me if Kenny Bednarek beat him. And “Kung Fu Kenny’s” 100m has been getting better and better………

Well, I'm going to hope that it is more coral or faded red because showing up at Hayward Field in Beaver Orange is a questionable choice at best, even for US Olympic Trials, lol (unless you're a Beaver or from another school that has orange as one of it's primary colors).

My mistake for seeing it wrong - it’s apparently red. I’m still not understanding the hype here.

The men’s 100m semifinals are in about 90 minutes. The NBC broadcast starts at 8:30pm ET.

Also, I appreciate the addition of Snoop. The mad respect he has for these athletes comes through in every fluff piece they've put him in. Real class there.

Shallow fashion point: I think this is the first T&F season in AWHILE that I’ve liked Nike’s kits. The maroon - both the tye-dye and the ribbed - make their athletes look nice. I like the gold ribbed world champion kits like what Sha’Carri wears as well.

It seems like for the last decade, the Nike kits were just plain.

Maybe depends on the temperature? Today is a nice day and the temps are in the low 70s right now but a couple years ago when the World Championships were held in Eugene and it was blistering hot for much of the week? I'd have probably wanted to go with the sports bra + short shorts rather than a unitard.

Rooks won, doesn’t have the Olympic standard, but is ranked 24th in the world. I think World Athletics will give him an invite. Wilkinson and Corrigan don’t have the standard or have a world ranking. Rotich had the standard but was 8th. Bor has standard but he horrifically fell and imploded to 13th.
