I'm pretty sure it was someone from the IOC to InsideTheGames.biz. I don't think that's a big deal though. It was inevitable that her status was going to be made public.

What I consider a big deal is that the audio from the hearing with the Russian Disciplinary Anti-Doping Commission was leaked to a Russian opposition outfit financed by Mikhail Khodorkovsky(fun fact, Eteri used to like him on facebook). Without this article nobody would know about the "grandfather's glass" defense.

I find it baffling why nobody(in Russia) talks about this. I find it odd how it seems nobody has tried to track down who leaked the audio. Is it just taboo to talk about the Dossier Center in any capacity? The leak had to have come from someone at RUSADA unless the audio was transferred to WADA,ISU,IOC etc for the CAS hearing and then leaked.

I have absolutely zero indication for who could be the leaker. But there was a RUSADA advisory board member who resigned within a week of the Ukraine war starting that I could easily see leaking the audio if he had access to it.

Independent Iljukov quits RUSADA Supervisory Board over Russian invasion of Ukraine
"Just want to inform you that I decided to resign from RUSADA Asvisory Board where I served (on WADA recommendation) as an independant member since 2020. My decision is partially dictated by personal reasons but I cannot deny that situation in Ukraine affected my decision."
Pretty sure you're wrong - but, clearly, it's too much effort for you to go read my DETAILED timeline of events as they happened which @Sylvia conveniently re-shared the link to just a few posts ago earlier today....

Whenever you wonder why russians aren't doing something.... it's because no one told them to. A Ukrainian pointed that out to me (in a larger, different context) but it makes a lot of sense and has great explanatory power.

Russia knows how to exploit Western legal system to their advantage, yet makes a mockery of it at every turn, as Russia isn’t truly held to civilized legal norms. It’s infuriating and disgraceful that they’re allowed to get away with it.

I read Shvetsky and Stolbova’s comments about Duhamel and was horrified. I understand they might not like what she said, but they crossed the line.
This doping scandal showed the best that there is in the world of russian figure skating :slinkaway

I knew it but I hoped it wouldn't be true.

AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH :wall:

Hi. I’m trying to follow the conversation @LeafOnTheWind . To what are you referring (“wouldn’t be true”)? Or just the further pause in time?

I just received this post from TSL: Dave interviews Christine Brennan in Switzerland:

What did Stolbova say? I can only find what Tat and Shvetsky said.

Since you posted TSL's interview with Christine, you should be well aware that she paid the tab herself. She can do what she pleases with her own money.
Yes, I just found out last night, when I heard the interview! I posted the question at my 11am, well before the TSL interview appeared, around my 9pm.
She paid, not USA Today or another employer!

I am really not sure what I would do if Russians could compete again. As much as I love skating, I do not think I would be able to watch them.
Just reading about their cheating and manipulative and really evil ways is like a kick in the stomach. ?

I will miss skating though.

I was just thinking that it was nice when it was fun to watch Russian skaters. Now, not so much.
Nowadays, it's just a matter of how much exposed toxicity can one handle? It's fun when it's sniping on the guys for being more into their video games than practicing, but lately, all that we seem to be seeing is the very dark side of the sport in Russia.

There's a case that I saw linked in a Russian forum of a Jamaican swimmer that trains in the US.

Jamaican Swimmer Mackenzie Headley Reprimanded By Doping Panel For Two Positive Tests
Jamaican swimmer MacKenzie Headley draws IADP reprimand

On the surface, it's worse than Valieva's case. The swimmer failed 2 seperate in competitions tests. They had multiple banned drugs in their system. The drugs in her system are ones you can really only find on the black market. GlaxoSmithKline stopped researching one of the drugs after it was shown to be carcinogenic. Another drug is a SARM which I know is popular in bodybuilding circles.

Now maybe there is a good explanation. If there is a tainted supplement out there then it would be nice to know which one it is.

This IADP panel is I'm pretty sure the Jamaican equivalent of the the Disciplinary Anti-Doping Committee in Russia. This ruling came after the Valieva ruling. And both rulings are pretty much exactly the same.

Did the Russian decision influence the Jamaican decision? Did WADA appeal the Jamaican decision? They have 21 days after receiving the reasoning of the decision to make their appeal(Section 5.3.4, also end of this news article).

If Valieva's legal team wanted to probe into how WADA enforces punishments into "protected persons", how much information could they request considering they would be looking into cases of "protected persons"? They definitely have reason to do so considering WADA is asking for maximum punishment.
