She's not killing herself to put in quads too early given her recent injury, but as usual ET is not impressed.
Akatieva fell on the 3A in the SP. She did perfectly fine in the FS and she and the team were quite pleased. And, she did the fully planned program including the quads.

Me stands corrected. They simply want to prop up KV. Sigh.

I listened to the TSL update on the case last night (it was from last Friday) and it sounds like WADA intends to immediately appeal the confidentiality decision that RUSADA has made once they get the decision/report from RUSADA. This is the relevant tweet from Christine Brennan that Lease mentioned in his podcast, from WADA spokesman James Fitzgerald -

A tweet from the President of WADA: https://twitter.com/WitoldBanka/status/1585549706515681281

WADA is concerned with the ongoing delay in Kamila Valieva's case and has now put RUSADA under formal notice that unless the matter is resolved promptly it will use its right to take it directly to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The IOC is now joining WADA in asking that the verdict be made public to ensure transparency and confidence in the procedure.

So, who is still convinced that the IOC would be perfectly content with letting this fade away quietly and allow Russia to keep its gold medal? Bach might be a Putinista, but NBC's contribution to the IOC's kitty is far larger than anything Russia's state TV broadcaster contributes. Remember this, folks, and mark my words, the IOC doesn't want Russia keeping this gold medal.

Eh, I'm not sure asking for transparency so "everyone has more confidence" equals wanting Russia's medal to be stripped. The fact that it took almost a week for Bach to make a statement, and used the word "confidence," is telling....he clearly just wants to quell the media firestorm, which starts up again after every ridiculous statement from RUSADA. He knows that a sekret investigation is only going to worsen public perception. Like you said, he's Putin's buddy.

Any decision short of stripping the TE medal will likely be appealed by the USOC. Presumably, until it's resolved, Bach will continue to duck any questions on Russia/RUSADA's culpability.

Won't we infer the decision/punishment if Valieva's Euro medal stands? It was held Jan 10-16, 2022. If she loses the medal, Loena moves up to bronze. If she doesn't lose the medal, then either they gave her a trivial punishment (1 day!) or found her not guilty of doping.

We can't infer anything until the Olympic medals are awarded. Valieva has the right to appeal any ruling from RUSADA and, due to her protected person status, that appeal could be kept confidential. At this point, it sounds like WADA and the IOC plan on appealing to CAS regarding RUSADA's decision to keep everything confidential.

Yes, but at the end of the day, if RUSADA (or CAS) determine that she was ineligible for Europeans, the medals will be reallocated. I can't see how protected person status will hide that.

I thought they informed Valieva about their conclusion at the beginning of the month and then she could appeal, which seems like she did. Then they took a whole week to come to a conclusion after hearing her pleading.
