It seems that 2WEI is becoming the new Postmodern Jukebox, ensuring skating fans are forced to endure horrible covers of songs that would typically be fine in their original version. Still, that may be a step up from that maudlin ballad Amber Glenn skated to for multiple seasons.

I have a Canadian friend who told me that Forest Blakk has a song that is played often on pop radio there. I'm wondering if that is the same track Shmuratko is using.

I have no interest in what any of the Russian skaters are selecting for music. For all I care, they could be choosing my favorite pieces of music of all time. I'll follow Russian skating this season about as closely as I follow Duck Dynasty.

It's the piece Papadakis and Cizeron used.

I just googled "Find Me" by Forest Blakk and it has to be one of the most pretentious yet artless slices of slam poetry I have heard in my life. How in the word did Olympic champions decide to skate to that? (That is a rhetorical question because I have never seen the French dancers' Blakk program and certainly do not plan to.)

Oh I love that free dance of PC,especially the ChSt part with the slam poetry where they echo the words. But maybe that‘s just because I am not a native English speaker and English words in any programs just feel exotic and alienate for me.

The same with Fournier Beaudry & Sorensen‘s Roots FD. I fell in love with that program at first sight. However apparently some north American viewers believe it’s just a Yoga music and can't stop talking about it… and they finally changed the music… broke my heart!

It wasn't the worst thing ever, but PapCiz can elevate pretty much anything they skate to - which means that we're now being subjected to a bunch of wannabe, lower-rate versions of the same pretentious schlock, but without the skating skills and raw talent of PapCiz to make it palatable.

Because they took the idea of a 2008 slam FD that left a strong mark on french ice dance (and was banished after 4 months of competition), stripped it from its punch in the gut dimension, and put it into the most harmless marshmallow ever for the judges' easy consumption.

As long as the Pointer Sisters program does not include voiceovers* or slam poetry, I predict it will be my favorite selection of the season.

*I would have to qualify this statement if the song was "I'm So Excited."
