USFS' Athlete Selection Procedures for 2022 Olympics

H&D won the Free Dance. Well deserved. I think the new changes at the end really gave them that extra punch and made the program feel more Olympic-like. Encouraging that they won the PCS and the FD portion, at least.

C&B also clean, but it fell a bit flat towards the last third of the program relative to H&D. Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the Olympics.

I wonder if the RD will determine who wins bronze in Beijing. The FD scores for H&D, C&B and G&P will likely be within 1 point of each other. But the RD (especially the levels) could decide who wins bronze.
I highly doubt G and P will be going to the Olympics. They were 4th at Nationals and are in group 4 for priority. H and B were third and are in group 3. I would be shocked if H and B do not get the third spot.

They’re talking about Gilles/Poirier.

Stick to the Selection Criteria and send the one with the higher international scores, or recognize reality? 🤔

What to do? 🤷‍♂️

I’m kind of confused. Looking at the AND/OR language, had Vincent placed fourth like he should have, wouldn’t he be in Group 3? So he wasn’t in group 2 coming into Nationals. I guess that doesn’t matter since he technically did place Top 3. That said, I don’t see how Jason and Ilia are in Group 3 because they haven’t consistently scored within the top 5 at Worlds or scored once in the top 3 at Worlds.

It looks like the table didn't copy properly.

Group 1 - Top 3 at Nationals AND Top 3 Worlds int'l scores
Group 2 - Top 5 at Nationals AND Top 5 Worlds int'l scores

Those headings are messed up. Group 2 is top 5 at Nationals AND the international scores. So 3rd, 4th or 5th wouldn't make a difference.

I see. Your headings were one column off. They need to move over to the right. Thanks!
