Bit late to the party but finished watching Wandavision last night. Had to binge the last four episodes because it had me hooked.

I think it was a slow burn to start with but it all totally made sense in the end. They did a great job of the production and the story kept you guessing. And I think Elizabeth Olsen was fantastic as Wanda.

Loved the whole thing and Katherine Hahn was amazing. Her big reveal in the last couple of episodes was fantastic.
 
Is Wandavision actually good or overhyped like most of the Marvel stuff (Black Panther excepted)? Asking for a friend. :P

I really liked it especially the first couple of episodes. I like how it turned the genre on its head while still being true to the characters.
 
My hubs asked me if I had seen a new Netflix show with Sex in the title, because there is quite an uproar over the size of one of the actor's penis that was shown. I was like "Sex/Life"? I didn't even get past the first episode I just wasn't feeling it. Anyway, people were saying his penis must be fake, it's too big, so I decided to do my investigative work, haha, and okay there is a shower scene in Episode 3 at the 20 minute mark, and well, it doesn't look fake to me. Has anyone watched this series? I might give it another chance.
 
I also am really enjoying Loki even though I am not a big fan of the character.

Though I think all these shows have really good episodes 1-3 and after that, it falls off a bit.

Do you think these shows are better when they are introducing the viewer to the world and characters and then start to suffer once it starts getting a plot? I kind of find myself thinking that with almost all fantasy and Sci-Fi genre shows/movies.

Could be.

Most of my complaints about the last few episodes of WandaVision turned out all to have been impacted by YKW though. For example, they planned to have one extra episode and also an appearance by Dr. Strange and it all had to be scrapped. So then they pulled a few side plots as they didn't have time to resolve them.

I didn’t even make it through the first episode. Seemed high on soft core porn, low on story lol.

I’m almost finished with S2 of Love, Victor on Hulu and it’s been just as great as S1. Highly recommend!
 
I liked Wandavision but first couple episodes were not great. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the best of the bunch so far IMHO. But I haven’t seen most of Loki yet just the first episode.

I watched on the basis that people here said they enjoyed it. I got more into it as it went along and by the end was hooked. Found it started slowly and built up. But as you can see it is not everyone's cup of tea.
 
I’m loving the Marvel series like Wandavision and Loki.

There’s so much plot.

Whereas the films are 20% plot and 80% big budget fight scenes.

I hope they keep making more of these as I’m really enjoying all the character development and story lines.
 
I enjoyed Fathom on Apple TV+ very much.

I just noticed Peacock has all the Harry Potter movies available to stream. Somehow I think I only saw the first 3 movies, so now I'm watching the rest. They play 5 minutes of commercials at the start and then the rest airs ad-free.
 
Watching (or trying to) "Surviving R. Kelly". What a sick, disgusting individual he is. He should be put away, never to see the light of day again. It's really hard to watch.

It's awful. I couldn't get through it. Skipped most of it and stopped "watching" in the second episode. Bad acting galore, no plot, and bad sex scenes.
 
I really liked WandaVision, doing it as a series instead of a movie gave them a real opportunity to develop the characters and the plot. I really enjoyed how each episode reflected an iconic tv show from the 50's through the early 2000's. There was a lot of references to past Marvel events and Katherine Hahn is an absolute delight to watch. I won't spoil it but the last three episodes are fantastic.

I also really enjoyed The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and am waiting for more episodes of Loki to drop before I start that series. I like Loki's character so am looking forward to it.

Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women - some sick guy's wet dream - I think I'll just give it a pass. And someone please tell me that such a movie would not be made today?

For those who have HBO Max, the HP films are all on there as well... at least for now. And they're commercial free. :)

As for the Marvel-verse, I love all of it, but I recognize that it's not everyone's cup of tea. I like the mix of humor, drama and action, though the latter tends to get a bit over the top at times.
 
My friend, an art professor, lives out in the sticks...has no cable, didn't want to pay for a premium service but has discovered Tubi and Pluto.tv. She is recovering from surgery and is presently binging Law and Order UK. I've enjoyed old episodes of America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country on Pluto as well as some Mary Berry cooking specials.

I watched and enjoyed "No Sudden Move"--a nice little parable about greed with a fine cast and a story with good pacing. It is on HBOMax.
 
Just started watching the German series Dogs of Berlin on Netflix. It's about the investigation of the murder of a soccer player. The cops have underworld connections. Dark. Really really dark. Two episodes in but may not continue.
 
We watched Dear White People on Netflix, about a group of black students attending a fictional Ivy League college. Really enjoyed this show—the acting is great; the story construction is interesting; and it’s funny. And, dare I say, a bit educational (for this white person, anyhow). I felt like I didn’t always understand every bit of the dialogue or the references (could be an age thing ?), but I got most of it. Fun.
