Your campaign for the Ks together didn't succeed in #TTW. Are you starting a new and bigger offensive for S-K/F? :watch:

I thought this clip was cool: https://www.instagram.com/p/CGvFgnhp9_w/
As a creator of figure skating music, the most exciting moment is when you see your work for the first time on the ice. Here's a look at Immersive Light of Love, my composition work that highlights Alexa and Brandon’s unique personalities. My longtime partner, Hugo [Chouinard] and myself, we unite to wish them the best performance at Skate America 🔥❤️ The whole free program is designed by @sk8mixhugo and choreographed by Renée Roca. Skating video sequence is a courtesy of @oniceperspectives
Here's the original FS practice clip that posted on Jordan Cowan's On Ice Perspectives IG account back in August: https://www.instagram.com/p/CEg0GFpJfP9/

You guys are too funny; ANL (@AngieNikodinovLove) thinks the music choice is terrific! @AxelAnnie says the music choice is awful! I'm somewhat neutral. It works, but I like a good warhorse periodically. Then again, I appreciate something completely unexpected. Not very helpful here, am I? Oh well. :saint:

What I am pleased about is how this new team came out gangbusters their first comp and won! Woo-hoo! The real test will be if they can continue to build on their successful début. Stay tuned.

Good luck to Alexa and Brandon.

A breathtaking 1st year. No serious criticisms can be made. They skate with freedom because as Brandon said, they trust one another (landing the jumps, not looking over their shoulders)

Going forward, they will need to develop their own style and take that next step. The music was generic but there was absolutely nothing wrong with that as they are a new pair who really needed to concentrate on elements. I think a non-romantic theme will suit them: It was funny to watch them in those 'intimate moments' of the LP because it looked like Brandon had to hold back on the display of any romantic gestures towards his friend's wife. LOL.

Otherwise on the tech side, just nit-picking: Nail down the SBS triple combo and perhaps go for a 3-2-2 to maximize points. JW pointed out that it would be nice to see the SBS triples closer together (Tara's response was spot-on: An American pair is landing triples. I'll take it as it is!) I can't really think of another element that they execute where I would say 'that needs work' even after just 1 year. Throws and twist are big. Good synch on the SBS spins. Jumps rotated and landed.

I think what will drive up their scores internationally is getting that sense of style and adding some more flourish to each of those elements, accents on music and all that. Again, a 3 jump combo is the one element that will pump up their BV the most.

The worst thing I can say is that Brandon has always had less than perfect posture, but it has improved and it would almost be mean to harp on that.

Loved their LP for Nationals! Looking forward to where they can go from here with such a strong start.

Article by @clairecloutier (February 9):

Re-posting here from the U.S. Pairs news thread in GSD - Alexa and Brandon's live chat with Marisol Paiz ("Cafecito con Masha" YT channel) on Feb. 10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY9JfMhX2Sw
This is an amazing interview. After asking Alexa the ultimate softball question, she asked Brandon point blank, "why did you end your partnership with Haven?" He gave a long, sensitive, honest answer and at the end of that said that he considered retiring. Then he says what his motivation was/is for continuing to compete. And it's not results. Brandon is impressing me more and more. Lots of good stuff here, and lighter comments too ... like why they chose to skate to "Fall on You."

On March 9th the Professional Skaters Association announced them as the winners of the EDI Award for 'Best Performance' at 2021 U.S. Nationals:

Best Performance Pairs
Alexa Knierim / Brandon Frazier — Championship Pairs Free Skate Program
PSA Coaches – Todd Sand, Jenni Meno-Sand, Christine Fowler-Binder, Rafael Arutyunyan, Chris Knierim
Choreographer – Renee Roca
Music Selection – “Fall on Me” by Andrew Bocelli, Matteo Bocelli
Costume Design – Lisa McKinnon

K/F had a pre-Worlds media call yesterday (recapped in this Twitter thread - 5 tweets total): https://twitter.com/fsonline/status/1370093792955670528

According to Wikipedia, Meno/Wendland were 3rd in 1991 and 2nd in 1992.

In 1993, Meno/Sand were 2nd, and then they won three consecutive titles in 1994-1996, followed by 2nd in 1997.

Well, I am sad that they had difficulty in the SP at Skate America, but wow on the comeback for FS! Second highest tech score behind T/M and not by much! I have all confidence that Alexa and Brandon will work harder than ever. But for the low SP score they definitely would have medaled. Was a great FS and well-deserved standing O.

It was a very good free skate I thought. Second highest free skate of the night, and yes they practically tied T/M in the technical portion.

Where do they go to next? Italy?
