This discussion goes nowhere only because you are determined to find at least some fault on Pluschenko, and you are getting desperate. If you inject at least tiny bit of objectivity into it, suddenly you may realise that even though he might be a jerk (I am not going to argue about that), that doesn’t mean that he is to blame on the situation with Kostornaya. She was training at his rink for the whole season, even though technically she belongs still to Tutberidze’s school so he got no funding for her at all. He financed her definitely two programs (and possibly 4, according to you, even though I doubt that he would be silly enough to pay for the last two if he didn’t agree with her having them!) So what exactly are you finding wrong on him this time? (Besides him being a jerk?)

Plushy says there was no contract with Aliona and she was free to go back to Sambo. That was nice of him even though she never officially left sambo anyway.

It looked like it was going to be a decent break up until Yana got involved. I say let AK skate at TT and let yana take them to court if she has to. Of course no other top level Russian skater will ever go to PA knowing what they've put Aliona through. Signing a contract with Yana is worse than signing a contract with plushy himself.

You mean like the money PA demanded when Stasya left and all the money they put into her? Or when the Czech girl left PA a few months ago? Or when Nastya T left PA did she have to repay all the finances they spent on her? Or Sima? A precedent has been set. They do not repay.

Good luck to sasha when she tries to leave PA when she 17, 18 or 19.

Plushy has said two important things that people are ignoring. He had no contract with alyona and when he took her in he said he would cover all expenses in a public decledlation and a verbal contract.

Plushy is not fighting Aliona returning to TT. He wants more made skaters like her to come to his Academy in the very near future and they might hesitate coming if there's gonna be all kinds of legal wrangling and contracts to deal where once they want to leave.

Plushy looks pretty good in this break up. He has said the right things for the most part and Aliona has stayed quiet which is good. She needs to get to work and I'm glad she's back training at TT she has her mama bear to protect her and coach her again.
Aliona is the #1 alternate for the Russian ladies at worlds. Being the number one alternate has never been more important in figure skating because Anya has been sick this year we think with c19 and definitely pneumonia and Liza T has had pneumonia 2 years ago and c19 this year and Sasha is nursing some kind of leg or hip injury. I hope all 3 of the Russian ladies and all the other skaters going to worlds are healthy and happy but in the Corona virus world we live in that may not be the case so the alternates have to be ready to go. As much as I like little Liza if one of the 3 Russian ladies can't go I want Aliona to skate at worlds. If she is physically up to it of course. If not then Nugu is next up.

We totally agree here. My point was that life or other people around her will take care of her. Not skating fans who don’t know her and the full story.

One may say she seems to have a bad temper or that she is hard to coach and maybe that explains her present path. Then, to write 22 posts about how brat she is when she didn’t do anything to you... Move on!

But she (and you) can’t be surprised that it is publicly discussed that she is a brat, because what she has done to Tutberidze she has done publicly. So it is natural that people would have opinion about that. If she didn’t wash dirty laundry in media, then I would understand if she hoped that people won’t criticise in public media her behaviour and now her wanting to return. If someone starts discussing something in media, I think it would be naive to expect that it won’t be further discussed in public media.

Skating fans probably discuss it because there is not enough skating at the moment, and no more skating news, so there is not much else to discuss. Why some people take it so personally, I am not sure.

Very well put. We forget that these phenomenal athletes are very fragile and as human as the rest of us. There were a lot of comments from G and Kosto today. Please we're very interesting comment and the Russian sites are going crazy!

Alyona had to eat a lot of Humble Pie here. If it doesn't work out back at TT she needs to go to Davydov. He desperately need to world class senior lady.

I like how EGs own 17 year old daughter was the key here to getting 17 year old Alyona back to TT. But the most beautiful skater in the world doesn't have a Hill to climb to get back to the top she has a mountain to climb at TT alone with KV Anna Dasha Maya etc etc etc.

Davydov has Samodelkina, but I agree he is a good coach he is a technician and his skaters get good music and choreographies.
way better than Tsareva, Cherbatova, Buyanova or Sokolovskaya, Butsaeva ( the last two teaching mens now only ?)

Absolutely. The amount of blame toward a 17 y.o. teenager in crisis was uncomfortable to watch. Alyona just needed more guidance. I think Plushy's method would work well for someone a bit more experienced - like Eugenia Medvedeva, who is ready to take responsibility for her own training. I think it works for Sasha because, from what it is said, her relatives are strongly involved in the process and can control it (is her father - a coach for some other sport? I remember I read in the past that he developed strength training exercises for her). Whereas Alyona was mainly on her own (with Sergei Rozanov who himself has 0 experience of teaching independently at the top level).

Sofia has one more year of juniors then to the seniors so Alyona would have been a perfect fit there. Eteri is a brilliant strategist and was very smart taking Alyona back with restrictions. If she went to Sergei Davydov or snow leopards or the professor and re learned her triple axel alyona would be a threat to knock off one of EG girls for the Olympic team. Now Alyona starts off as the Eteris number 5 girl heading into the Olympic season. The great coach is really smart and she actually looks kind and decent taking AK back.
If this works out EG will be seen as an even greater coach than she already is. It really is a win win situation for this coach.

Good luck to Kosto. I hope she gets healthy and finds her groove back at TT.. But I am concerned about her health and if she is ready for that rigorous training at TT.

And she was still only 16 when she left TT on July 31st 2020.

Sometimes Alyona acts like a typical teenager.
Not everyone can be like Anna and Alina.

So she’s on probation?!
At least she has a home rink for the end of the season, to take her through the 1st-Alternate situation at Worlds...in the unlikely event that she gets the call to go to Stockholm.

Every athlete has to find their way. Sasha found the system that works for her, Aliona the same. She may have been brash but she was honest to herself. If she had the presence of mind to make this change hopefully she can meet her expectations and make the Olympic team. I hope she makes it, she is my favourite current Russian skater in any discipline, so this season hurt. Bring it on!

Wasnt Alyona practicing there today in front of EG? I saw the video and she was in her workout clothes on ice..

The alleged financial obligations will be dismissed. Or ignored. Just like they've been ignored by the several skaters who have left PA in the last 2 or 3 years.

Eteri made the point of Alyona not complaining about who is on the ice with her. Man this girl is skating on thin ice. Fortunately she has great skills and many coaches in Russia and outside Russia would love to have her as their number one lady.

She is! Moreover, she will be skating one of the programs, which Dannie G. made for her and which she trashed, as an exhibition program at an upcoming Eteri's show. (Although I think this particular one she didn't criticize but anyway I love the irony of the situation!) As for probation, it's normal procedure at Khrustal'ny. When they consider a new student s/he is always on probation for several months first. Of cause, they know Alyona and you can think of probation as punishment, but it's also a motivational push. Alyona needs to return her 3 axel back. I'm curious what happens next.
