this might seem crude, but i can't for the life of me remember who else passed away. I know the coach, as well as Ten, Reed, and now sadly Katia. Who else has passed?

Four years ago, Igor Pashkevich, 1990 World Jr Champ, jumped to his death in Palm Beach.

A few years ago - 1984 Olympic bronze medalist Kyra Ivanova committed suicide in her Moscow apt. More recently (2016?), Igor Pashkevich, 1990 World Jr Champ, who jumped to his death in Palm Beach.

Kira Ivanova was murdered and they never found out who did it.

There will be a celebration of Katya's life in the park outside Canterbury Ice Rink on Sunday morning. The details are on the rink's Facebook page if anyone wants them.

There will also be an option to live stream, according to the post. I don't know if it will be available outside of Australia but I will post any information I find.

OMG that’s right.... He was Angela’s coach in 03-06!

I met him at 2004 skate America in Pittsburgh, even took photos with him. I remember that day of his death. That was so sad!

In 05 He also was in the car with Angela and her parents in the taxi that flipped on the way to the nationals.

With the passage of time I start to forget things. Igor was a suicide correct?

For anyone who is struggling, I came across this 2014 blog entry today in relation to Robin Williams (today would have been his 69th birthday) and thought I'd share: To My Hurting Friend: You Are Robin Williams Hugs to you all!

This part really spoke to me:

When someone leaves the world, they leave a gap; a gaping hole which they alone occupied; one that they filled with their once-in-a-creation, never-to-be-repeated combination of humor, and intelligence, and wit, and flaws, and beauty, and dreams.

There are no words to adequately describe what a tragedy it is for a life to be lost before it even had a chance to really begin. RIP Katya.

We have definitely achieved our goal to flood Katya's service with flowers! Our friends in Russia have placed an order for $3000 of flowers for the service to be held on 23rd July!

The remaining funds will be transferred to Katya's family to support the cost of holding a beautiful service to celebrate Katya's life.

Danielle O'Brien and Greg Merriman wrote an eloquent eulogy for Katia, including both touching and humorous anecdotes, that was delivered beautifully by Danielle. Harley was present (not on camera) and will release 2 white doves outside the rink to honor Katia.

I was shocked by the song, to be honest. Mainly of who sang it. She also just died, which is so tragic as well. (And I had completely forgotten that Glee episode).

I know It's eerie because I had just started watching Glee (and fell in love with it) when I heard about what happened to Naya Rivera and it broke my heart. When the song was playing, it reminded me so much of Katia and I thought it would make a nice tribute to her.
