- i have not received doctors' approval for full training and competitions. Natalia and i are training in a (downscaled) regime suggested by doctors.

• our current training is - aerobics exercise with a low heart rate - up to 140 beats per minute, and without drastic shifts in workload/intensity. Natalia, however, is not limited, but there is no need for her to train at full capacity, she is now just like me, maintaining her form.
• i am not ready to say something definite about our plans to compete next season.

Which is great except when Plushy was a kid he was dirt poor, like basically lived in a hovel poor. He only received money for his training. To pay for this one room hovel his mother had to asphalt streets and he has go collect bottles for recycling.

So, you know, he kind of had bigger concerns at the time then learning where the fullstop goes in a sentence.

I believe the difference between the two messages is enough to think there was sufficient intent behind the differences to warrant being shady. One is strictly a birthday wish while the other doesn’t even mention the occasion, instead including praise for both the past and present. The past where he barely lost to Boitano, Eteri’s professed favorite skater. The present where he coaches Medvedeva, Eteri’s most famous defection.

Shade is not direct. By nature it is supposed to be subtle. You don’t see the insult itself, only the shadow it casts. So, TAT’s post was definitely shady given her current public feud with Eteri.

Diana Davis, Eteri’s daughter, is getting attacked on social media (by the same groups of “interested parties”) for being “lame and deaf” and having “no future in skating”. She finally posted a reply on her IG:

“Dear people, I am sick and tired of hearing that you consider me lame and deaf, and that I have no future in figure skating because of this impairment, and all the other (stuff). Therefore I just want to let you know that I live a normal life, study at a regular/normal school, and hear and speak with people without problems. (sarcasm on)I often “hear” better/more than normal people (sarcasm off).

Yes, in the past I had problems, I could not quite understand what’s spoken, because I could not hear clearly, I was shy and reluctant to communicate with people. But at one point I decided that I will work on developing my hearing. I refused to use hearing aids or any gadgets offered to me, and my efforts lead to me to open up and now I am hearing fine. I made myself adopt.

And I also want to tell other people who are living with a hearing problem, there is nothing impossible! Do not be shy and scared to communicate, try to work on it, and all will come. Everyone has something to solve, nobody is perfect!”.

I don’t think Diana meant “developed her hearing” as such, I think she’s referring to her use of visual cues and body language as well as whatever residual hearing she may have. As an audiologist, I’d love to see her audiogram!!! She must be exhausted by the end of the day, auditory fatigue is no picnic.
Whatever people may say and no matter who her mother is, that girl is inspirational.

You're right they just called him a fake coach, I'm sure all the kids in the younger group he trains and spends literally HOURS on the ice with will be stunned to hear they're suffering from a mass hallucination.

It intrigues me how no matter what he does Plushy can't win with some people. He skates they want him to stop, he stops they heap scorn on him for being a "quitter". He starts off as poor so he's backwater hick, he gets rich, through his own hard work mind you, and he's a greedy POS.
