Does anyone know how the seating works at the bell center? Is row A closer to the ice than row G or is it the opposite?

Customers also used to be allowed to bring their own wine or beer into restaurants. But that was some years ago, don't know if it is the case today.

I live in Ottawa and they are trying to get it into convenience stores. They have already put beer/wine in some grocery stores. I believe this is pretty normal in the U.S. and has been for years.

It starts with AA at the glass through to FF, then switches to A-W. So A is really 7 rows up.

I know this is off-topic, but I'm in Toronto and I really hope they don't change the rule in Ontario. I live in a very busy, tourist-heavy area of the city and I find that my local convenience store gets a fair number of already drunk and/or unruly tourists looking for alcohol after dark. I find it a lot safer that they have to be directed to the nearest LCBO and are limited to their opening/closing hours.

I booked the Boneventure. I liked the idea that you can get to the arena through the underground system. Weather in Montreal in March could get yucky. And I can shop while I’m at it. ?
I like that idea too.
Unfortunately my husband has points/loyalty programs w Marriott & Hilton so I have to stay at one of their properties. Watching Sheraton in case rooms open up but at Residence Inn for now.

Anyone else? I’ll have a car but happy to ride-share to arena.

I have day passes for Th/F/Sat right now and hotel W-Sat nights.

Thanks! I wonder if they will allow the bags in the arena? Or is it clear bags only? (& of there is a zipper. I’m always cold so I’m gladly enjoy the blanket.

have to amend this. He switched me to La Meridian instead. Looks like a nice hotel but a little further away.
It looks like the Sheraton may have some rooms available — not as nice of a hotel & have to use their 3rd party to book (hate that) but better location. I prefer Marriott especially as we get club access (he travels a lot! So would love if rooms opened up there - does that ever happen?).

Does anyone know if the Sheraton is connected to the underground city? That may be my deciding factor.

I don’t know how the security will work but for all the times I’ve been there they do not allow backpacks. I’ve also always had to go through a metal detector (either an actual doorway like one in the airport or just by a person using a wand).

Here’s the official list from the Bell Centre:

You can get club access at the Sheraton with Marriott loyalty status since Starwood and Marriott merged a couple years ago.

Forgot that. Booked w Sheraton for now. I’d love the Marriott if rooms open up but not optimistic. They usually have better lounges ? but I’m sure I’ll be fine. Sheraton is close enough that I can go back to rest or eat before PM sessions.

you can also get club access at Le Meridien, they too are part of the Marriott family.

Thanks for that reminder. The Sheraton is closer (it appears) and was about the same cost, plus has on-site parking which Meridien does not so it won (for now). LOL.

I got a deal on a flight plus stay at Hotel Bonaventure on orbitz.com. The hotel has some less than enthusiastic reviews (outdated rooms, concrete maze, not enough elevators) but at least it's connected to the underground city and close to the Bell Centre.

FYI I just released one room at the Comfort Suites downtown and I am in the process of canceling 6 at the Marriott.

Zut alors! With a little over 4 months to go, I started searching for flights. No one but Air Canada flys direct from my city to Trudeau. To avoid AC, I'd have to turn a simple, 90 minute flight into a 4-5 hour ordeal. Non.

We have flights to go there but nothing to come back yet.

Booking it separately because we could use points for the way up there.

I am seriously considering going to Montreal for worlds. About time I made some hotel reservations. Those are the hardest to get.

The Bonaventure is nice, don't let the petty reviews dissuade you. I'd stay there in a hot minute. It sits on top of the huge brutal convention building and rooms either face the city with views, or face inside to the Japanese gardens. If you've got a garden view it's like you're not even in the city.

I'm not sure the gardens will look that great in March though.

Not on flights from Europe unfortunately :( (in case anyone else got excited like i did!)

It worked for me. (I am in Canada.)

Not sure where you are departing from but i tried booking Paris - Montreal return for March 14-22 and could get it for as low as $415 Canadian.
