:D 16-24 kids? there will be many objections to that from may countries' State Administrators... Having a tech-gadget glued to one's hand and acute exhibitionism was not "usual for kids that age" 10+ years ago. Technology has its minuses.. :D

If one is following the athletic progress of a skater, it is impossible to avoid the other junk, because many mix athletic, professional and personal in one source. Noticed lately that those "kids" who are successful, do not abuse the social media, and stick to business. It is the "problem-children" are the ones "who seek the wrong attention"... and it helps very few of them to skate better... :lol: When there was no social media, these "problem-kids" used to give bitter or provocative interviews..... and the response was "shut up and skate"... now it is "shut-down you i-phone/pad and skate". Somethings don't change after all..

Yes, from what was seen 12 hrs ago, all IG, VK, twitter and few fan sites.... But he won the FS (with relatively decent jumps and clumsy execution) and the event at Cup of Russia tonight (and many regular video chat participants, who usually don't agree on anything, thought it is a clear set up and TAT's influence)..

I don't have facts, but i read on many Russian chats that "One day TAT kept smacking him around.... then at some point she gave him a BMW as a gift".... Weather it was a gift paid in full, or help with down-payment, or even loan, i don't know.. But she did punch him around a few times, since several people saw it.

However, before TAT pushed him to switch from Goncharenko to Byiyanova, TAT was Kovtun's worst enemy.

They were really in good relationship, Kovtun was on Plush's Kings on Ice. ;)

TAT is always very polite with Plush but in these stories show what she is really thinking. That was weird TAT and Yag were the commentators on Yuzuru's FS at Rostelecom but none of them mentioned Plushenko's role in the establishment of the program...Why is it Origin.. I don't believe they didn't recognize the famous Nijinsky music. :D TAT was in St. Petersburg when Plush had that super FS she is visible on the video... :lol:
 
Clearly, Kovtun skates better when his coaches and TAT aren't around. :lol: Either that or they threatened him with more beatings after the SP. He can do the jumps if he doesn't let his nerves get to him. Unfortunately, that happens more often than not. His programs aren't bad this season and are competitive with Voronov for sure, and possibly Aliev and Kolyada if they bomb. Which is also a real possibility. He landed 3 quads in the program. But, who knows how any of the Russian men will do. Voronov also has a history of bombing at Nationals. Aliev and Kolyada are headcases as much as Kovtun.

If only. But that won't happen. It will go like this:

Sergei will make a small error in the SP, PCS will drop like a stone, he will bomb the FS and end up 4th or 5th.

Mikhail will be typical Mikhail but may see his PCS go down slightly since his stock seems to be decreasing.

Max will be typical Max but with generous PCS because he is suddenly everybody's darling again now that he showed he can do 3 quads.

Dima will be typical Dima and end up 4th or 5th, or even possibly fall behind little Petr...

Samarin will skate 2 programs utterly devoid of choreography, transitions and interpretation, but will get skyhigh PCS and become the new national champion.

I'm just going to steel myself for the worst because every year has been the worst since...well, since forever.
