Survivor - Ghost Island

I watched the 2 hour premiere last night. Anyone else?
The theme is not as bad as I thought and could be intriguing. May get confusing if there are too many idols/advantages going on - since possibly one could pop up each after each immunity challenge when someone gets sent to Ghost Island. Plus if there are HII around their beaches.

Losers tribe (sorry, I can never remember the tribes names)
I can not believe that 2 people I did not like got booted right away! Hurray.
Gonzalez - thinks too highly of herself.
Jacob - would be annoying to be around - and don't play so hard in the beginning.
Stephanie - the yoga instructor - I am liking her so far. At first I got confused - so many hairstyles, I was not sure if it was the same person. But she is smart.
Overall the ladies on the loser tribe seem like a good group. Laurel and Jenna have good first impressions.
The guys are doing the obvious - macho guys bonding and assuming they are running the show.
Is it Michael that is only 18? He does not look that young.

Other tribe
Chris and Domenick - will be interesting to see how these 2 macho guys duke it out. And Chris with the other FL guy.
A couple of the ladies seem ok - but no real impressions yet of this tribe.

No repeat players! Lots of 20somethings.

I'm with you in liking Stephanie on the "loser tribe" (yeah, I can't remember the names either). The Donathan guy....I am not sure if he is going to be one of the most annoying people ever, or a really strong growth story. I also like Wendell (?), the lawyer/furniture designer guy on the "winning tribe"....I think he may have depth that the macho dudes don't. It seems like it will be intriguing, if not a bit confusing at times with all of the advantages/idols/etc that may be in play at one time. I do love that they are always twisting things up; all of these years of watching Survivor, and it still turns out to be something interesting!

He already is. When is somebody going to tell him to stop talking so much. But I kept thinking he sounds just like the SNL parody of Jeff Sessions! :-)

"I can't find a man in Eastern Kentucky". bbaawwwhhhhaaahhhhaaa!!!! LOVE Donathan!!!!!! :P

Mike, dude .... you are really 18 but are saying you are 23 .... ya coulda pushed it to 25 because to me you look like you are 28-30!

That sucks that sometimes when a person goes to Ghost Island they don't get to play a game. All the games could still be a 50/50 shot where maybe they win an advantage/Idol or maybe they don't. Make it even harder that they have to pick from 3 or 4 boxes or something to win. At least let them do SOMETHING for having to go there.

That Jacob dude was annoying. Glad he is gone. That girl that got voted out first, I know I woulda ended up hating her so glad she's gone too. :P

Don't remember enough about the other people to know if I hate them yet or not.

I’m looking forward to this season after two highly unlikeable people got booted in the first episode. I know nobody’s names yet, but this group has some potential to make a good season if the potentially massive number of advantages and idols don’t overshadow everything.

I would have liked the advantage better if you could keep it instead of giving it away. There is no reward in giving it away.

There can be, but only if both the donor and the donee stick around long enough to meet up with each other.

Watched last night having skipped the first ep, and it was a challenge! What's with switching tribes after only 2 TCs? Without the colour coding to help me sort the two out, and now everyone talking about their former and new tribemates, I found it super confusing.

No standouts for me so far.

"That is how you play Survivor" -- Jeff, at the end.

But I know nobody's names or faces and was super confused for 2/3 of the episode because I had no idea who was on an original tribe together. "The 4" on either end could have been any random group of 4 people, for all I knew.

Morgan who? Angela who? They really needed to keep the original tribes in tact for a couple of more rounds before the swap.

ETA: Wikiepdia to the rescue. Old-orange voted the same (Morgan). Old-purple had 3 vote for Angela (one of their own), and Angela voted for Libby.

@Fridge_Break, I totally agree. I watched the first episode on Tuesday and then watched last night's episode when I got home from work, so I didn't have time to "forget" anybody. I was thoroughly confused. I understand the reasoning for eliminating Andrea, that made sense. But what was the point of voting out Morgan? What did she do? And what made Libby flip? I'm hoping that next week we will get some answers.

According to her exit interview, she was the Naviti glue that could have reunited the 2 Naviti factions after Chris returned from Ghost Island.

On another note, every so often Donathan will cock his head a certain way and make me think of Phineas Flynn. I'm sure the orange and white striped shirt has something to do with it.

I do not have Cable - but stream TV - and watching Survivor - it was freezing a bunch. I thought that is why I was confused as to who was who - but sounds like we all were. The idea of an early tribe swap, while interesting, does really confuse me as I barely know who anyone is.
Chris & Dom - not really liking them, not sure about anybody else.

 Good one. :P I have no other comments. They should not have split the Teams so early. I couldn't even get their names straight to keep track of who is who.

Especially with Bradley and Brandon. And definitely too early to compare oneself to actual winners (I am giving credit for Rob winning Amber's season, not his season).
Whoever it was that had James' idol and the way he presented in the TC was very clever to mess stuff up. I am not sure the person that got voted out is on his side or not though. LOL
Earlier in the show they way they showed Laurel connecting with Dom and activity in that camp - I was sure that was the tribe going to TC. Laurel is awesome and she made Dom seem not as bad. I think I want Chris gone first.

Chris has the intense, already paranoid look that makes him look a Brandon Hantz meltdown in the making

Watched all the episodes yesterday and got caught up with the season. Many people don't really have much airtime yet, but I for sure cannot stand Bradley. He is so smug, talks condescendingly, and I really wish that Michael and the others would've read him/the majority alliance well enough that his cockiness would've been shut down immediately in the Brendan vote. Anyways, it was still funny to see his face drop and start choking over his words for those few minutes.

I like Donathan's innocence and I can see him being carried a long way just because he's so well-liked (a la Tai for two seasons), and much like Tai, I also could see him making a stupid move based on being too sensitive.

By the way, I can't believe Michael is 18.

This season has a ton of twists, and I agree with the others that the first tribe switch came way too early.

I like James so far. That's about it.

They always claim they have the entire season mapped out in advance, but this seems weird. I wonder if there was a reason they switched so early, and then again. Perhaps there was something not working - maybe it looked like one tribe was too strong or weak, some personality stuff that wasn't going as they thought it would?

Tonight’s episode was interesting. I actually got to know a few people
But 3 tribes. I did not like it, but I do know who was who in the tribe that went to tc

James - finally met and poof you r gone...seems nice, but a bit rigid. Why was he so shocked and called it a blindside. It was Des or one of the guys.
Des- once I heard her speak - she is younger than I thought she was
Angela- interesting. I think her confessional where she mentioned retiring fr army, daughter growing up and divorce - her vote was that she has some bond with Kellyn. I know everyone is here for the $$, but Angela is having a journey that I want to see.
And we got some info as to what happened when Mogan was voted out and Angela got votes.

Chris - omg - if some one had never seen the show before they would think he was acting his part. He is so full of himself- but it is so funny and sad at the same time.
laurel -one of the few I feel I have gotten to know-still like her.

I am still confus d on some of these folks and it is due to too early and too many tribe switches.
It might still payoff as the merge lines may be fuzzy. We shall see

When did they get the new girls? I've never seen them before. :P Seriously ... who were some of those people! It is so confusing with all the Tribe swapping before you even have time to learn their names. I have no idea who most of these people are other than Donathan and Michael.

I like Wendell and Michael. Chris is a douche, Domenic seems douche-lite, and Sebastian is an idiot. I can't tell the girls apart at this point really, because they all seem interchangeable, but yeah, Angela seems to be a decent person (even if she for some reason actually likes Chris), and I continue to like Laurel. Donathan annoys the crap out of me for no rational reason.

I'm clearly not getting into this season. I was home last night and completely forgot to watch. I looked up who was voted out and I can't figure out who he is. I'm not even sure if I should bother continuing to watch or not.

I agree with all of this except for the Donathan part. I would love to see a continuing alliance between Donathan and Laurel.

Yeah, I'm hoping this season becomes more engaging. There are just too many things going on right now--all the tribe switching and the Ghost Island twist are making it difficult to keep track of what is going on.

I will say that the boots seem more obvious this season than in any season I can remember. Someone is shown in tears talking about why he or she is on Survivor? The tribe is about to speak.

Ding dong, Bradley's gone!!!

Future FYI for Survivor contestants; once you use the word "dick" at tribal council and no one even acknowledges you, the dick could be you...buh bye!.

(oh yeah, and I'm glad that both Michael and Wendell have HIIs now, because I like them both, probably the most out of the guys who are left. And Donathan is slowly growing on me....)
