Skate America 2018 goes back to Everett, Washington

So frustrating to have the "buy tickets" page available, but no access without a pre-sale promotion code. It has been like that for 5 days or so. Called the arena box office and got a lovely assistant who had no idea about how to get the code. She said they were sending it to people "randomly." I asked USFS about when the code would become available. ...crickets...

Hope today is the day USFS gets it together to send out the code.

 The Courtyard Marriott in Everett near the arena is $499+ when I went to check out hotels. Jeez. Wonder if they will have some sort of rate because I'm not paying that!

If I remember correctly, there is also a Best Western and Holiday Inn within walking distance of the arena.

Smart to host in Washington State, for what ever reason, traditionally such a welcoming market for skating events including Nationals. (Perhaps the absence of competition from big league events?)

The Holiday Inn is now a Delta Hotel by Marriott. It's currently sold out for the SA dates.

I checked the Best Western and that is sold out too. Weird. I wonder if they don't release rooms until like 6 months beforehand or something?? Or there's something else going on it Everett the same weekend.

The Best Western was sold out when I checked, as well as the Travelodge nearby. I looked into some hotels in North Lynnwood - the prices are more reasonable and they're about 20 minutes drive to the arena. Since I am contemplating on renting a car out of SeaTac (Uber trips both ways might end up being about the same price for 2/3 rental days) it might not be so bad staying further away. Any recommendations for better/closer accommodations are greatly appreciated.

There are a few other hotels listed on the Angel of the Winds Arena website: http://www.angelofthewindsarena.com/planyournight/WhereStayEat.ashx?p=1149

The Hampton Inn is less than a mile away from the arena.

I think uber from SeaTac to Everett would be really expensive since SeaTac is south of Seattle and Everett is north. I took a Super Shuttle van when I was there for 2008 SKAM.

The hotels being sold out so far in advance makes me lean towards going to Four Continents instead!

It's now $3.00 ($3.25 to the University of Washington), and be sure to buy your ticket from the vending machine before you go up the escalator to the platform.

If you look on Google maps on the I-5 highway that runs north from Everett to the Canadian border, there are hotels at various points along the way as you travel north. These could be possibilities, depending on how far you are willing to drive back and forth each day - but some of these hotels are just there for travellers' convenience, i.e. there isn't much around them except for other hotels or maybe a Target or Wal-Mart. Also check TripAdvisor before booking anything, because some of the lower-priced hotels may be :scream:

I guess I'll have to rent a car; I wasn't looking forward to wasting money on that! Hopefully they'll release hotel blocks as it gets closer? I hope... pray...

I wish we knew more about 4CCs too, I know I'll be there as it's only an hour's drive away!

@Lanie it seems like it's renting a car and staying further away, or staying closer and paying $$$$. It probably works out to about the same amount.

I've been anxiously checking my emails (including junk folder) but still have not received any in regards to the tickets pre-sale, which is supposed to start in 4 hours. Could anyone with better luck please give us the promotion code.

The only email I've received is the presale for Friends of Figure Skating members.

So no promotion code...does that mean we have to wait until Thursday and buy tickets like commoners? :drama:

There is more than one presale code - you can guess what it is for one of them. Tickets are on sale now.

I tried:

I asked the LOC about hotels, and they are working with hotels to secure special rates. So far, there is one:

The Best Western Plus Navigator Inn & Suites which is approximately 6.7 miles from the Arena and is offering shuttle service to the event has a special rate. Below is the information about the hotel.

Got my tix - section 119. We really enjoyed Everett and the local people on the last visit and are happy to be returning to the area.
