I did not mean that. I meant that Jason would not tell them first!

Absolutely, Dave is getting this from his alleged sources of alleged disaffected 7K parents or whatever. Given the pseud accounts posting on TSL's twitter about 7k, and the cray-cray stuff they've said, who knows?

That said, give the devil his due, :angryfireDave was right about when he tweeted earlier about Tomoki leaving 7K. I'll still wait to hear from Jason or his team.

I’d love to see Jason go to Raf! Or Orser. but I think Raf will have more space/time for him with Adam and Ashley both retiring and Nathan Chen a bit touch and go. Jason needs serious serious help with his jumps. He’s actually regressing at this point.

I don’t think I’ve ever loved a male skater as much I love Jason. It’s just so frustrating as a fan to see him being stuck the way he has been the last few years.

The thing is, we're only getting Raf's side of the story in that interview. There may be more to it--other factors that we don't know about.

Also, let's not forget that Raf won't have first hand knowledge; instead, he is likely to be relying on his understanding of what others told him. Due to things like stress induced misinterpretation, what Raf understood might not reflect the parent's intent or actual words.

Nathan strikes me as a thoughtful young man. Perhaps he brought his jump quandary home one day because of his close, trusting relationship with his family, and then his family simply shared their thoughts on it

Nathan seems really grounded. I was impressed how he handled his dissapointments at the Olympics so well. I think that is neccessary as the USFSA seems to have this unfortunate tendency to overpressure their next superstar. That is what largely killed poor Gracie Gold, but Nathan seems better equipped to deal with this over the next 4 years, and has dealt with it well so far despite slightly dissapointing final placings in his first 2 World-Olympic events.

From what I gather he is very close to his family too, which is very important. A bit like the Kwan family, but less of a domineering father or parent figure than Michelle had.

It was hard to tell what you meant by what you wrote. It's not a question of Jason's telling TSL. Jason has an agent.

Jason does indeed have an agent. Jerry Solomon, Nancy Kerrigan's husband. If *he* is giving :sekret: to Dave, I am :confused: and :scream:. I guess anything's possible.....

But personally do not think, given the cray-cray pseuds who have commented on 7K in the TSL Twitter threads, that *anyone* from Jason's camp is feeding info to Dave. JMO:cool:

Slight change of subject, but a thought on my mind since I read the Raf interview.

If neither Adam nor Nathan go to Worlds, what does the Worlds team look like?

Vincent, obviously, and Jason, obviously. And...?

You know what she wants us to say, you guys. ;)

It's not the way I'd have it. I'd rather he have finished high enough at Nationals that this wasn't in the discussion, and I'm sure he would rather that too.

It's a legitimate question regardless of my personal biases. I'm curious as to what others are thinking.

Well, I think it would all depend on whether Ross is really done, or if he'd want to give it one more shot.

I'm really concerned about Nathan and the fact that they sent him home early with the flu. He was ill at Nationals and now sick again. One wonders what the impact will be on his ability to do well or even shows up at Worlds

Well he basically has a month. I guess it depends on how much training time he misses.

TSL tweeted that Jason has left Kori and is trying out with possible new coaches ....
I have heard this as well (in the last week) independent of TSL. The support structure at 7K seems to be moving, literally, in different directions from the athletes, with athletes seeking new coaching, and coaches making changes as well. Changes like these are not that uncommon at the conclusion of an Olympic cycle, for various reasons.

Well this is intriguing. If there is a move, I bet we see Jason and Rohene moving together (just speculation based on the comment that they were seen together in SoCal).

What’s a bit unusual, though, is that Kori has coached Jason for 18 years and that she’s rumored to be leaving. It’s one thing for an athlete to move on in order to take the next step - that makes sense in Jason’s case because he seems to still struggle with the bigger jumps. But 7K is wholly Kori’s creation and if I recall, she brought coaches and admin staff in from different states. So if she’s moving on and /or 7K is dissolving, that’s a change of a different magnitude.

Absolutely. DybreDub/Lauzin Marie Universe and Patch took a big leap when they went from Canada to Zazoui and Haguenauer, but they did that because their coaches retired. Savchenko's coaching team is dispersing, and she faces that fork in the road

Ward has been making more appearances in KnC, too, which suggested to me that he meant his branching out to register more.

Another coach can't cure his back, though.

He's in my 5+ decade pantheon, regardless of any specific results, but I understand the frustration, because I want to see him in any competition he aims to be in.

I think Rohene is scheduled to tour with Holiday on Ice this coming year - can’t remember where I heard that or when it starts. But I remember it struck me because he’s been full time at 7K for the past 3-4 years, and I wondered then what was driving the change, and whether Rohene had already done Jason’s programs for next season.

With all this uncertainty, I also wonder who will put Jason on the ice at Worlds if for some reason he has to go. It can’t be an easy situation for him.

ETA whose back are you referring to?

Is Jason's back still a problem? He seems to be relatively healthy. I feel like a lot of his issues this season were mental, not so much cause of his back -- otherwise he wouldn't be able to do some of positions he does...

I think it's certainly possible that Kori will still be at Jason at Worlds (if he ends up going) just to wrap things up. But who knows.

The only thing I’ve ever noticed was his hydroblade, which he only kind of half does now as opposed to the full one he used to do in Riverdance. I thought he might have made the change because of his problems with the loop, but I suppose it could relate to his back.
