I’m already sick of people saying that this wardrobe malfunction is the reason Tessa and Scott won. Please. They won because they kicked ass!!!
I find it quite laughable. Also all the other explanations for why Tessa and Scott won over the crowd, the viewers and in the end the medal are hilarious. I guess these people don't even get how obnoxious they come across: the Olympic crowd isn't as knowledgeable; MR/ the choreography /VM isn't/aren't as artistic / deep therefore easier to understand (for us dummies, I suppose?)I’m already sick of people saying that this wardrobe malfunction is the reason Tessa and Scott won. I know I'm probably the last one to see it but watching the medal ceremony made me teary-eyed again. I love to see them and their families so happy. Scott was giddy like a little boy. If anyone wants to re-watch it: https://vimeo.com/256564049

“We were holding our breath, obviously, in the kiss’n’cry,” said Moir afterwards, “because we know what fantastic skaters (the French) are, we know that they’re going to post a world record. We thought that was a good enough skate to win us an Olympic title but you never know in this sport, you never know.”
Virtue: “And it would have been embarrassing to celebrate too soon.”
And my favorite:“We did know how we would have to skate. We came up with a plan yesterday afternoon with our off-ice team that we wouldn’t know how they skated and just block our ears, let them have their moment. That’s the beautiful thing about figure skating. No matter what happen, we get our four minutes and we wanted to make sure we took full advantage of it. I felt like we were able to do that.”
But the Canadians were certainly aware — they won’t say perplexed — about the scoring controversy from 24 hours earlier. Too high, those French marks.
“I did have a similar though to that yesterday,” Moir admitted, “because it was tight and we felt like we kind of blew the roof off the arena. But that’s the scoring system. There’s nowhere else for us to go.”
Meaning, their Latin-rumba short had hit world record heights.
“We knew today we’d have to come out strong and we were up against it a little bit. I did see that in the marks. What do you do? That’s the sport of ice dance.”

And you know what? I'm free of the judging as well! I'm not that invested in any other couple, so I'm free!!!! With one exception... Tessa and Scott start coaching“You know what the beautiful part is?” Moir told reporters in the mixed zone, after executing a wide embrace of familiar journalists. “We’re done.
“I don’t have to look at the breakdown (of marks) anymore. It’s fantastic. I’ve never felt so free.
“We skated our asses off and we’ve got to be proud of that. The points? I don’t really care anymore. We’re going to get that Olympic medal tonight. That’s awesome.”
What a great post! Agree a 100%!That was insane! Rollercoaster ride for 2 seasons...didn't think my blood pressure can handle it lol I was a complete wreck watching the last 5 skaters skate. I knew they had it in them to do it but that rested on the judges' shoulders when it comes down to it ...
I'm just beyond ecstatic with V/M's OGM!Winning with two fabulously choreographed programs ppl will talk about for years to come. Total redemption for that 2012-13 Carmen lift
I couldn't care less right now to talk about scores just yet. Just want to celebrate their last programs in competitive circuit - and feel proud of how well they skated under pressure at the Olympics yesterday.
Oh I have to say that Tessa look absolutely stunning in her new Olympic FD outfit. (Yes, I much prefer this upgrade from original than the one at Team event). They both looked ridiculously gorgeous side by side. So HOT!!!
Tessa & Scott, if you or your family happen to read this ... Thank you, thank you! For being not only the greatest ice dancers I've come to admire (and cheer for) but truly gracious good people. Yes, my daughter and I will never forget how ALL your programs made us feel. All those sweat and tears, wins & losses including your sharing the vulnerable parts of your lives during your career, we all also felt it deeply in our hearts.
Congratulations on your OGM win and best wishes & luck for what's coming next in your lives <3<3
Btw someone posted way earlier about this - commenting on what you dislike in a program doesn't equate to as one being whiny. We all know it was a process. All season long we have criticized but also rooted the best parts in MR's evolution. I felt as if they also heard our voices from here. In terms of ideas on appealing dance movements, better music choice cuts, and even fashion sense. (If I don't know any better, there must beventuring here lol)
Article with quotes from Tessa and Scott https://www.thestar.com/sports/olympics/2018/02/19/canadas-ice-dance-darlings-virtue-and-moir-capture-olympic-gold-in-pyeongchang.html
The whole article is worth a read (as a VM fan, the others be aware), but here the quotes from Tessa or Scott:

Rosie O. can drive a person nuts with some of her commentary but boy did she ever nail it this time!YES!!! I hope they will consider doing that![]()
Where did you find this information? I was also hoping for a new one.So will there be a new thread now?
I'm looking forward for the gala. I know that they've decide to skate to "Stay". Was hoping to see if they will do a new one now![]()
Guess, my hair will be totally grey then in a couple yearsYES!!! I hope they will consider doing that![]()
It was from here ... Back in January https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eysNtspIDWs (at least it stated on website published on January 22, 2018) Unless I'm mistaken ...Where did you find this information? I was also hoping for a new one.
Guess, my hair will be totally grey then in a couple years. But I will gladly take that if it means I'll be seeing Tessa and Scott as a coaching couple a la DL
.
And a new fluff piece: Skaters reflect on Tessa and Scott https://vimeo.com/256537181
Love it!!
I think someone posted the link for BESP in the earlier post.Ok here I go again.. anyone have the BBC or BESP coverage..really need to see them react! TY!!
The NBC extended version of the FD is here. Unfortunately the sound stops about 4 min. in but I loved to see the background stuff after the score. When Aljona and Bruno won, German television followed them with the camera until the "flower ceremony" was over. Annoying to them, I guess, but I loved to see it. Did Canadian television do something like this? I would love to see their reaction.

BESP is here, too! https://vimeo.com/256538388
Yes. I think they stated it in some of the interviews throughout the season. And probably the article from The Star (see the post waaaay above) had them quoting to that effect as well.Did they say they are done? Are they officially retired now?
Those tweetsThis BBC article is so funny. Love the reaction on social media to Tessa and Scotthttp://www.bbc.com/sport/winter-sports/43125368
Honestly, yes. I mean Scott's quotes, their behavior, their looks... BUT, I have been their fan for a long time and know how it ends eventually. Still, there is a tiny bit of hopeThose tweets
(psst...guilty lol I was on that bandwagon for awhile after Vancouver OGM win. Now I'm like "yes, you tease". But come on, you got to admit somewhere in tiny corner of your heart you're rooting for it, right?)
