Papadakis/Cizeron #5 - We're In Love With The Shape Of You

Given the way social media has exploded from casual Olympic watchers so far over various ice dance programs, that’s a great sign for P/C.

I have no doubt that if they go clean and energetic in the SD, it will blow up over social media— Goodness, there are enough Sheeran fans out there— and further bolster the idea that “Wow, Ice Dance is actually all sorts of awesome!”

^^ I just saw that online at NBC Olympics, and I came here to post. You beat me to it. :) It's a lovely feature on P/C.

Summary of the small documentary :

They arrived in Korea. They followed them after GPF in December before Nationals, training in Bercy (Paris). Then, they do a presentation (nothing new), point out that no other French team has had such a meteoric rise in the past.

Then, we see them train, Romain gives advice, says that every details matter to go further, to arrive at Games as ready as possible and mentally strong.
Voiceover : They'll repeat over 10 times the beginning of the SD this morning until perfection. 2 young skaters (17 yo) managed to sneak in  "They skate so well, it makes us dream".
Having such a chemistry takes years, exactly 13. They're not an item, but share a special bond, a special relationship (Guillaume : "we go through intense moments together").

Then, they are being filmed in Clermont-Ferrand where they lived (They come back 2 or 3 times per year). Picture with the blue costume is in 2006. GC's mom : "At this time, they were playing in the city, and he used to always lift Gabriella around" (the picture is so funny).
GC's mom : "we start with one training per week, then 2, then 4, then come at 6 a.m at the rink to train... really ? Then everyday.","We are proud of the person you became, this sport allowed you to build your own personality". His mom will go to Korea.
Gabriella is walking around in "self-mockery". Gaby : "You got to laugh a little a bit, no ? I don't know, I like it... otherwise you get bored, don't you ?"
She did not necessarily wanted to skate, it was almost like school, she had no choice (Her mom is a coach). But she started to like it, but never ever dreamed or wanted to go to the Olympic Games when she was a kid. Today, she won't switch her career for anything.

Back to Paris, media tour in a Brasserie (small restaurant), gave interviews for many big French newspaper to get closer to the public, bring popularity to the sport, for the youth.
Radio interview : they run into Teddy Riner (google him if you don't him = Legend).

Gabriella and Guillaume will try to make history 16 years after Marina and Gwendal. Blabla, the end :D

PS : Those edges and that DiSt :encore:

Thanks for alle the news! I love interviews with them! I also really wish I could understand what they say so I´m really grateful for your translations!!!

I really really want a practice report! But they must be practicing somewhere away from the official venue, because I can't find a thing.

Thank you so much for the wonderful news. :cheer2: I missed them so much. I'm sure some practice videos will be available soon, or at least pictures.
I saw Gabi with Romain and Marie-France in the standings watching the pairs long program. It's good they/she get to enjoy the atmosphere too. :)

Merci pour la traduction!

Did anyone here see the sweet little shot of Gabby cheering for Meaghan and Eric in the pairs free last night? She had her hair down with a hat on and looked relaxed, beautiful and like she was having a blast. :)

Yes! There they are, haha! They panned directly to Gabby on the actual CBC broadcast last night. :) Sorry, should have known you guys would be on top of that :)
It's true that NBC and CBC don't always have the same camera work (which makes you very lucky :D not the best tbh...).
