Even the newly adjusted age rule would have allowed Asada, who turned 16 in that calendar year, to compete at the 2006 Olympics and 2006 worlds. She most likely would have won both, as she was the clear favorite after the GPF where she thrashed previous OGM favorite Slutskaya, and the weak competition at the Games with Slutskaya crumbling, Cohen falling, and Arakawa doing a watered down routine (while bit contenders behind those other favorites like Kostner, Kwan, Ando had major issues or didnt even compete) makes that seem even more likely.
She would be a 4 time Champion, OGM, and OSM at minimum. Quite possibly though she wouldnt have felt the same pressure at the 2014 Olympics in her short program and might have medaled or even won there too. Doing this in the deepest era of skaters ever under the most complicated scoring system ever, along with her 4 grand prix final titles, Four Continents titles, and being regarded an outstanding artist who is also technically groundbreaking and devastating would she been seen as the best female skater ever today? As it is she is instead in the shadow of Yu Na Kim even in her own era.
