That person seems to just be guessing though. Another poster says, in response to someone else, that the Moonlight Sonata rumour is true.

I know. I'm just hoping it's true. ;) It certainly sounds like something they'd skate to. And I love the concept of bringing a classical piece up to date with something so current.

So I've been listening to this piece since yesterday, and now feel like if P/C don't skate to it, I'll be massively disappointed. :p It is the most amazing thing ever. Too short to be a FD, but mixed with something...but how to mix this properly? It would be such a challenge.... I did a little googling though, and see it has bits of Mozart in it, not Beethoven, so I'm wondering if it would actually fit with Moonlight Sonata anyway? Hmmm....

Amen. Especially this year with all the repeats in singles, ice dance feels like Christmas now. @sap5 don't get your hopes up because it's more likely than not you'll be disappointed. I've been listening to it too and love it. I don't think anyone has ever been able to guess P/C's choices before so ...

I know. :) I just can see them skate to it so well! Really they're the only team that could make it work, and it would be simply unbelievable. It would take ice dance to a completely new level. And the music is so current! The mood captures I think the mood of the world in general at the moment. It just works on so many levels!

It's clear that I need to just step away for a moment. ;)

I know, I asked because you said about criticism already they used the same FD. I was wonder how people could criticise something they didn't saw? ☺Thank you for information.

...because some people were already criticizing the music/program choice as "more of the same" etc. when Moonlight Sonata was just an unconfirmed rumour?

Criticizing things in advance before seeing them is a well-established tradition around here! :D

Of course we'll see on Saturday. Buts it will probably be in the same vein than what they did with Mozart, even more gorgeous imo since they improved over the last 2 years.
We'll see!!

Edit : and yes like Nimi said, this choice has already been criticized so i can guess the reactions now that it's "official"...

What does this even mean? How can one judge a dance's creativity without even seeing the dance?

ETA: I see I've said the same thing pani said earlier, lol.

To me, last year's program was very different from To Build A Home, so I've never understood this criticism of skating the same program every year. But when it comes to the Olympics, you want to skate your strength anyway so why the surprise? Plus, most of the Olympic audience have never experienced a P/C FD, so now's the chance.

I just meant in terms of innovative music choices - i.e., both VM and PC skating to pieces that many would consider warhorses, the Shibs doing another Coldplay program, etc. Not throwing shade at anyone (as I enjoy all three of the current top teams and many teams below them as well) - should've been clearer about what type of creativity I was referring to.

Liking any ice dance/skate programs is subjective. I personally don't care if skaters dance to a music piece that is used before by other skaters. It's how they make/interpret it as their own, that matters. Now that I look forward to watch. Warhorse or not .... No doubt that PC will bring their A game
