2017-2018 Program Music and Choreographers

What is this competition? The arena looks like MegaBox Centre with a rink on the lower level, it's in Kowloong.... It's a party rink (so it seems to me) and not for intl events..... it's a place where you have 5 drinks and then go skating...... and if you jump as little as a double jump, everyone else who had a drink on all 4 floors hoorays outloud....... and bangs on the glass.....:D........ it's not even full size.... strange.

It's Asian Open Trophy. You are right. The name of the place is Mega Ice Hong Kong. The official YouTube channel has the clips from the ladies free skating and exhibition.

 What's with the white Mohawk? His pants were falling down during the footwork necessitating his clutching at them. Is that going to be incorporated into the choreo? ;)

That said, Ivan is definitely always enthusiastic, fully committed, and all-in on his programs. Ah but maybe he needs to choose a different kind of Lord of something music/ theme? :watch:

Jackie Wong reposted the first part of Nathan's SP on his Instagram and that's still up: https://instagram.com/p/BXNwJBnF5eN/

Who is Nathan's sp choreographer?

IIRC her coaches have said she doesn't like super specific instructions for choreo or doesn't like to follow 100% of the choreographer's directions, so maybe it's just what she likes to do.
And it looks silly. Pink fairy maybe. But it's not a tango.

I love both Marin and Karen, but I think it's clear Marin's program is better and Marin is the better skater. Karen has lovely positions, nice expression, and great spins, but Marin is smoother, has softer knees, and her program has more choreography. Karen just glides around a lot. If they both skate well, I think Marin should place ahead of Karen pretty comfortably.

That seriously worked way too well.

I confess myself rather disappointed that at the crunch, Hanyu has simply gone back to the recycling bin. A third repetition of Chopin and a second repetition of Seimei.

Yeah, I feel the same. I'm sure he has his reasons, and I'll still enjoy whatever he puts out there. But I really wanted something new & original. And brilliant. (It's not like he isn't capable of it. I think there's little limit to what he can do.)

I like that he's doing something with a Japanese feel for the Olympics, he didn't nail this program at Worlds that year and it'll have a new music edit (so it'll probably still feel fresh). His audience in 2016 was only 1/6 of the audience he'll have this season, it's going to be a brand new program to the Olympic audience.

I also loved that program so much that I just don't care that he's recycling. It worked a lot more than any of his other LP's did IMO.

Seimei is original. And with new music cuts and new choreography.
