Papadakis CIzeron #4 - Happiness Does Not Wait

He had two stitches ;)

I don't think V&M are doing WTT. W/P are still higher ranked and Tessa is vacationing in France right now.

Apparently, in their various interviews, he mentions the stitches were badly done and it's not looking pretty so he needs to get this better taken care of. How badly can one do 2 stitches ??? You'd think the medical staff in such an event would be top notch. But then I also expected great camera work :angryfire Still fuming that their best FD ever was so badly shot with overheads angles.

I get they want to maximize exposure for the sport but those athletes are so tired when Worlds are over. Plus being olympic season and all, they should have cancelled the event altogether as top teams probably want to focus right way on preparing. Basically WTT makes no sense this year.
I wonder, if a world record is set during WTT, does it become the official WR ? It would suck for P/C to get their FD WR beaten by V/M at a competition they're not participating in.

WTT doesn't make any sense in any year. While as a fan, I enjoy watching the skaters one more time, I think everyone is worn out from a long season and are ready for a vacation before getting back to the grind. They could have it at the start of the season when everyone is fresh and ready to go.

Agreed.
They should do it half way in between Olympic cycles and maybe also every 4yrs.
But at least it should be skipped both before and after the Olympic cycle year.

I wouldn't cry if they scrapped the team competition at the Olympics, either. At least the dance teams get about a week off after.

Lol. I always did want more and more skating. I guess what changed is I think the IJS programs are more difficult, more exhausting.

I have to ask, did they get a sponsorship by Lacoste or what ? They appearing everywhere with those polo shirts. I hope they do get sponsorships, they deserve it and should be getting more recognition, especially in France.

Yes, they said it in their instagram story (monday or tuesday), it's all new:)
I had seen the pictures of Guillaume shopping frenzy in Lacoste but he didn't mention Lacoste was sponsoring them. Then good for them, go get those $$$
They do need exposure, they're very discreet but other couples are quite media savvy and they should be more present too in the media esp. in the Olympic year.

Yes they even have a press attaché now to take care of all their interviews and so on... it's cool if can get them more recognition!

What is a press attaché? Is that like a sports agent? A public relations representative?

LaCoste puts on a cool show at Paris fashion week. They'll probably be invited in September with lots of celebs, press....a break from the ice. :)

I'm not sure that a weekend in Paris in September will be in their projects (the competitions will approach):) but why not.

Some videos (I do not know if they will work out of France):

I'm loving your motto about PC dancing to whale sounds hahahaha. Tanith got a great idea there :D
Ben and her are doing a great job. I actually believe P/C skating to whale sounds would be transcendental, a transformative experience like Tanith called it. She was inspired during her FD commentaries.

Oh, yeah, there is that little matter in the fall. Well, the following Paris fashion week is in February 2018. ERrrrrr......NO! I know, go to Sept. 2018 Paris fashion week as Olymic Gold Medalists (skate gods you did not hear that!).

I'm thinking about Le Grand Bleu (the big blue) music... always loved it. But I think it's more dolphin sounds we kinda hear hahaha.

Well, maybe I am wrong, but, if the technical panel counted the stumble as having happened still on the step sequence, then it means they (V&M) would have gotten level 4 for it without the stumble.

We can't reach that conclusion. Their circular step sequence was level 3 both at the GPF and at Four Continents, so we can't say that it would have autmatically been level 4 at the worlds.

They were actually very lucky to receive level 3 at all, because Scott's stumble was at the exit of a twizzle, which therefore shouldn't count and he didn't have another twizzle in the step sequence. Also, their GoE was pretty high from most judges.

In any case, Virtue and Moir are taking their skating to a whole new level IMO. Their knee bend and their flow is improved, they are using their upper body much more than before - which makes everything more difficult - and Scott is going for a level of expression I didn't know he had in him. :respec: All this inevitably takes its toll.

Virtue and Moir hadn't reached their full potential IMO and were not likely to ever do that with their previous coaches who kept them at the same level year after year. How lucky for us fans that they are willing to put themselves through all this hard work. If only they had done it directly after their Olympic gold!

I do not think D/L had things together for their school at that point. As well I think things only went south for VM after Igor was thrown out. He was the master technician and maybe he was the one with the integrity.
