I'm starting a new thread for Aliona/Bruno, because the last thread's title is outdated now.

So, making up for lost time, Aliona/Bruno are entered to compete in both of the last 2 Challenger Series events: Warsaw Cup (Nov. 26-29) and Golden Spin of Zagreb (Dec. 2-5). Let's hope for livestreams at both events!

I'm disappointed they're out of Golden Spin, but perhaps it's for the best. 3 competitions in 3 weeks is a lot. And they probably have German Nationals coming up soon, I think?

Wow with the 1-handed lift entry in the LP. They certainly look secure on the elements, and I imagine he'll keep working his rear end off to get somewhere near her level of skating skills. He is SO much huger than Robin. . . and I loved the look of Robin and Aliona together. Will take me a while to get used to the look of hulking Massot next to her.

I also loved the way Aliona and Robin looked together on the ice but was impressed by how well Bruno presented Aliona on the ice. Because he is taller, their lifts--and her amazing positions in them--look more spectacular.

I've always been a fan of Aliona´s and loved her with Robin. Of course this new pairing will need some more time to level with each other but they would benefit from better and more original choreography. I so wish they could train with Ingo!!!

They are on the entry list of Warsaw Cup which starts tomorrow (no schedule posted as far as I can see) - http://www.isu.org/en/single-and-pair-skating-and-ice-dance/calendar-of-events/2015/11/cs-warsaw-cup .

ITA. I will miss seeing Robin and Ingo in the kiss 'n cry with Aliona. Of course, Robin was ready to retire, but the break with Ingo apparently has largely to do with the fact Aliona/Bruno had no money to pay him, and Ingo could not afford to wait to be paid, and the German gov't or German Fed has blocked Ingo from being paid from German Fed funds forever due to his past Stasi transgressions as a youth. I wonder who the new coaches are? They seemed very happy to be sitting with Aliona in the kiss 'n cry. I could not help but think that certain persons in German Fed and/ or German fs community with jealousy or axe to grind against Ingo were eager for such a split to occur for a long time. In any case, Aliona probably is running the show mostly with some assistance from the new coaches.

Good luck to Aliona and Bruno! I enjoyed @clairecloutier's Tallinn Trophy pairs review of Aliona and Bruno performances. :)

Thanks. Is there a English translation or synopsis available?

I wonder if there is any chance of their adding some interest to the choreography or switching up some of the music before worlds. Their elements are incredible (apart from mistakes of course), costumes are great, and they look fab together -- but the program and music are such a snooze! It's all in slow motion apart the SBS spins. The repetitive music is like prison torture!

Yes, very accomplished looking and melding together more and more, but still a bit tentative. Agree there seems to be more excitement/ pacing needed with the music and choreo.

Thank you, kwanfan1818. Had to use Hola, since the video is blocked in Latvia and the official video is buffering too much for me. What worries me is that Aliona is still having problems with both throws in their FS. She has not done both of them cleanly even once out of three competitions that they have had. To be more precise, she has done one throw out of six just semi cleanly.

Marvelous... transitions in and out, no loss of speed, great height, great ice coverage, no jump stalking... super!!!! She's just an amazing athlete. End of story. I don't know if Ingo is to blame for her wherewithal to train transitions or not. Watching her at the 2006 Olympics in the short program, they were in my mind the first team under the new system to really load a program with transitions and make it look breathtaking. They impressed me when i first saw them the way Papadakis/Cizeron did last season. My thought was " wait... hold on.... maybe i need to drink some water, take a shower and a nap because i surely imagined something so amazing". Compared to the other female pair skaters, Aliona just does everything right, except wearing those ugly Edea boots LOL. Otherwise, she's kid of the queen to me
