I Have Got to Stay Out of Sephora (and other glamourpuss issues)

I love brown. I ordered this for my birthday, can't wait to use it. I also have this from the same brand, gorgeous, though not quite brown. I also like brown metallics, like this, and I have a bottle of Revlon Toffee that I use in fall.

Tonight I'm going to do a fall orange with brown details.

Wow, that first polish is gorgeous!
That is a fine birthday present.

thank you!

I did a pre order when she released the fall collection. It was not the only one I ordered... :P. I love these polishes, they are all amazing. I use one of them and packed the rest away for my birthday. (I have 4 waiting for me).
my nail polish collection is already out of control. But I see it like collecting model cars, or manga figurines or whatever else people collect.

Love that Julep polish! I too love brown metallics. OPI's Sprung is my fave for fall. I have Butter London's Brown Sugar on my toes right now, but the formula is thin and leaves bald spots - like this swatch.

Quick question - is Clarsonic worth the investment?
YES! I love mine, especially before I do a home treatment like Dr. Gross. It takes off the dead layer and the product is able to penetrate better into your skin. IOW, it will enhance the efficacy of your skincare.

Quick question - is Clarsonic worth the investment?

I haven't been able to bring myself to invest in one. I have just used disposable facial buffs a couple of times a week. And I don't put soap on my face everyday. And if I didn't have outbreaks of seborrheic dermatitis where I needed to slough off that dead skin with a medicated facial wash, I wouldn't even do that.

But just based on all of the reviews that I have read, I would be more interested in the Foreo Luna. It a little more expensive, but it seems to be easier on the skin (great for someone who has sensitivity or other dermatologic issues, like myself), charges faster, has better portability, is silicone (waterproof and antibacterial), has no additional brush heads (or other parts) to buy, and has more speed variations. So, I purchased that, I wouldn't have to buy anything else. But the price of both of them makes my heart beat a little fast. I haven't talked myself into that investment yet. Maybe if I can get enough Amazon gift cards or Ulta reward points after the holidays. Or maybe I can find a good Black Friday deal.

You don't have to put soap on your face, there so so many products on the market you can use to wash your face without soap. Clarisonic offers a cashmere brush for sensitive skin, btw.

That other product sounds interesting. If you get it, let us know how you like it!

I don't own any brown nail polish. Not quite sure how that is possible. Haha!

I used to own OPI I'm Fondue of You which is a reddish muddy brown. But I threw it out in the purge last year.

I do own a nice beigey taupe which I love.

I think I would love a dark chocolate brown. Must Look for one soon. Lol!

I am considering getting Clarsonic. But I am not in a hurry. I could get it for Christmas or something. I am in proces of redoing my bedroom :)
I like the ideao of Foreo, but after reading what ingredients I would have to get rid of my skincare in order to use Fore properly - I gave up on the idea.

Brown nail polish bores me. I have a deep burgundy purple on my toes right now, very autumn, I like a lot.

I saw my financial adviser yesterday in advance of some serious life changes this year. One thing we went over were large expense. Q from her to me: "So how much do you spend at Sephora per year?"

:slinkaway

You're in PR, surely it should be tax-deductible? :D

I don't like brown nail polish, either.

I normally wouldn't give brown nail polish a second look, but I do like Chanel's Terrana (scroll down). I never use nail polish on my fingers mind you, only my toes, so it's a bit easier to be bold.

Speaking of toes, I have the Clarisonic pedi set - it's saved my disastrous winter feet on more than one occasion. :)

speaking of feet, has anyone used those pedi masks that causes your skin to peel off? It looks like something out of a horror movie, I saw it on buzzfeed of all places.

My heels have several mm of dead skin, no amount of scrubbing will get it off (My mom said I should see a foot dr. (for got what they are called in English) and they could shave it off - I'm not doing that myself), but I wonder if that would do the trick.
I looks so crazy though, I am not sure I dare. Sometimes my feet get so dry and cracked too, that if I press on a crack it hurts beneath it.

other news: I received a sample of Smashbox primer. I think I have pretty nice skin, but this is like magic. My face look so smooth, like it was photoshopped. Not sure I would bother with it every day, but for special occasions for sure!

The foot product I really like is Bliss Foot Patrol. It's likely not enough for serious heel issues, but I've found it works really well for feet that are very dry and for a certain amount of cracked heel skin, and it's pretty much instant.

maat, I have awful cracked heels in the summer from wearing sandals (especially Naot, whose cork soles are great for foot comfort but which accelerate dryness). I've experimented with a bunch of things and found the simplest cheapest remedy to sleep in white cotton socks a couple nights a week after applying a thick layer of Vaseline. Not the sexiest night-gear but it works.

I do the vaseline and socks trick too and I LOVE Naot sandals. I collect the Kayla, I have about 5 or 6 pairs. :slinkaway

I am in total agreement with sleeping in white cotton socks. However, I prefer the creamy petroleum jelly that Vaseline makes and not regular stuff. This absorbs into the skin better than that. But nothing will work until you slough off that rough dead skin. My feet would look like shucked corn cobs if I didn't have it under control. It was/is a constant effort. I feel your pain.

maat, if you do go to a doctor, ask for Ciclopirox lotion for your feet. It's primarily an anti-fungal, but it's the only thing I've found that properly penetrates and softens the rough skin on my feet, and has lasting results.

@vesperholly....this is what I was prescribed for my seborrheic dermatitis. That is something to ponder in the future. A bottle lasts a good while when just applying to my face. My dermatologist even suggested using it for my severely chapped lips, and it works well. Thank you!
