thank you for creating this thread, I was just looking for a cheer thread
I too hope they will be a GPF, now we will see.
I will try to calculate, let me know if i
Looking at the standings, Stepanova/Bukin will get another 15 points in Rostelcom and move into first or second, leaving Z/G in 4th with 24 points.
Then in France, Papadakis/Cizeron will most likely get 15 points.
this leaves
Hawayek and Baker (15)
Sinitsina/Katsalapov (13)
Gilles/Poirier (11)
Parsons/Parsons (11)
Parsons and G/P will need to get silver to match with Z/G, and I don't think Parsons can get that in this field, so let's ignore that possibility.
If H/B gets silver, they have they will have 28 points and go in above Z/G. If then S/K gets bronze, they match Z/G with 24 points, and a tiebreaker will decide 5th and 6th qualifier, but they will both go. If G/P gets bronze they will get 22 points as will S/K (9+13) - Z/G will go and G/P or S/K will be decided with a tiebreaker.
If S/K gets silver, they get 26 points and will go above Z/G. In this case, H/B getting bronze will have them get 26 points, and have them above Z/G. G/P with 4th and 20 points will not qualify but Z/G will.
If G/P gets silver, they tie with Z/G at 24 points. If H/B gets bronze they go in above these two teams with 26 points, but all 3 should qualify (leaving S/K out of the GPF with 22 points). If S/K gets bronze, its a four-way tie between H/B G/P, Z/G and S/K, all with 24 points as far as I can see - leaving one of these teams out of the final.
I think that is it?
I really want to see both G/P and Z/G at the final, it will be interesting to see how the chips fall though.
No matter, I think that it's clear Z/G is a top Russian team, and while they all have their qualities, they are my favorite Russian dance team right now and this season as been great for them.
