World Team Trophy - Who qualifies?

From the ISU website:

Russia leads the six ISU Members that have qualified for the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating in Fukuoka (JPN), April 11 to 14. The ISU World Team Trophy is a biennal event.
Russia tops the standings with 9038 points followed by the USA (7752 points) and Japan with 6991 points. The other qualified ISU members are France (5541 points), Italy (4344 points) and Canada (4217 points).

Who would have thought last year, when Canada won gold in the Olympic team event, that they would be the last to qualify? I wonder how many points China had.

That was a joke Canada winning GOLD in the team championship of the Olympics last year! Patrick Chan was falling all over the place! Other scores were incomprehensible if you ask me even with the new system! IMO FS's still the most "corrupt" regardless of people wanting to call it "subjective!" :duh: :judge:

Am not sure if this is a worthwhile event really. I do, however, like the team medals at the Olys.

Its probably worthwhile at least for skaters like Piredda, Rodegheiro, Chartrand, Fa, Grassl, Meite etc assuming they go. Skaters who didnt make worlds or had a disappointing finish...gives them a chance to end on a happier note.
