A VERY early poll, because bored.
So you have Eunsoo Lim and Bradie Tennell as options but not Elena Radionova? Bradie's PB is just 204 and Lim doesn't even have 200+. So many people wrote off Tuktamysheva during the Sochi season and she came back just fine. ;) Add Radio please, else this poll is illegit. :EVILLE: :D

Depends a lot on injuries/healing. I voted for the first six but I am concerned about Medvedeva's injury situation. Wakaba Higuchi is a hit or miss and so is Bradie Tennell. I picked Wakaba because of her silver at the recent worlds.

It is fun to speculate. However, if we could not predict podiums after watching the performances at the GPs last year..........at this point it is silly. Fun but silly. Who would have predicted Medevedva not sweeping everything, or Kaetlyn winning worlds? Nathan botching his SP? Yuzuro being out? Sui being injured?

Shoot we don't even know who is skating to what?

Who knows? There could still be retirements and comebacks....

GPF isn't likely. But in Eunsoo's defense, she's limited by the junior rules. And she has defeated Dabin, who has 199, for two National titles. Two hundred plus is entirely plausible.

After watching Polina's comeback I have not much optimism how a GG comeback would be. Especially since when she exited her skating was already poor. Polina's wasnt.
GG is way more talented than Polina Edmunds. She has amazing jumps which are very similar to Katelyn Osmond.

Not the way she has been skating for the last 2 years she aint. When you have had an arsenal of doubles for 2 years getting triples back aint no easy feat. Top that off with an eating disorder..... if she made a comeback I dont see a GPF finish or top 3 at Nats for her.

And then getting a very shattered confidence back will not be easy either... not with Medev's, Zag's Osmondova's and Trusova's all breathing down her neck.

Just keeping it real.

Better than Osmond's. Spins too.

We know now why she was struggling. Those were mental issues. It doesn't mean the talent was not there.

You could have all the talent in the world (Czisny, Lip) but if you aren't mentally sound (nerves of steel like Yamaguchi) what does talent matter to get the job done?

I love GG and hoped for at least a world medal for her but the way her skating is now and with depression, eating disorders and the country of Russia bypassing her I was responding to how a GG comeback would be. Of which I said Im not optimistic. I think you'd have to be a Warrior from a different Universe to get back to the level of making it into the GP Final which was what the thread was about.

Edmunds missed a season due to a bone spur (and she was coming off a Nats SP win then). GG will have missed more than a season due to a whole variety of factors, plus when she left her skating was not strong but Edmunds' was. All reasons why I am optimistic about GG making a GP Final.

I think that Gracie Gold has the talent to win when she's 100% healthy (physically and emotionally). I don't doubt that the competition will be very fierce, particularly with the young Russians (the ones with the quads, 3A's, etc.)

I would say GG's jumps are on par with Osmond's... particularly when they are clean. I also think that she had a 3 Lutz, 3 Toe combination. Hopefully, she is mentally strong because her skating was truly wonderful to watch.
