Who has your favorite Exhibition piece of all time????

For pure entertainment value, I always loved Viktor Petrenko's "Let's Twist Again" Kurt Browning's "Hot To Go" and Brasseur/Eisler's original cross dressing one (it wasn't Patricia the stripper but a different one).

I think mine are:
Machida's Inheritor http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2qgl0h_piw2015tatsuki-machida_sport
Takahashi's Crisis https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A7nb9Yp4-Og
Mao's current Cello Suites https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JuMCGGlPOUU
And John Curry's After All which apparently inspired Lori Nichol to create Mao's ex https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SXJqsoFwUic

There is a certain common thread... fabulous skating skills, a contemplative mood, exquisite choreograpy, and my favorite skaters. I could come up with more but these leaped to mind.

Ladies: Oksana Baiul The Swan at the 94 Olympics
And Ekaterina Gordeeva skating to Mahler at Sergei's memorial

Men- Brian Orser 'The story of my life' at the 1988 Olympics
And Rudy Galindo YMCA with COI

Ice dance- Klimova Ponomarenko Tchaikovsky's 5th symphony, with a scarf as a prop
Grishchuk-Platov 'You'll see' with COI

Pairs- Berezhnaya Sikharulidze 'Impossible dream' at the 1999 worlds and on the COI tour
And Gordeeva-Grinkov Vocalise

Brian Orser - The Story of My Life
Midori Ito - her "Rain" medley from the 1992 Olympics
Paul Wylie - JFK
Michelle Kwan - Winter
Todd Eldredge - Il Mare Calmo de la Sera
Kurt Browning - Singin' in the Rain
Viktor Petrenko - Mambo #5
Mao Asada - Jupiter from "The Planets" (I Vow to Thee, My Country)

Add another one for B&K's "Return to Innocence", which I could watch repeatedly forever. I also loved their "To Emily, Whenever I May See Her" (which was part of CSOI's Simon & Garfunkel group medley in 2000, IIRC) and "Time After Time" from the Elvis: Incognito special on CBC.

Tons of/pretty much all Kurt programs, but "Antares" and "Lightning Flashes" are sticking out in my mind at the moment.

B&E's "Tears in Heaven" and "There Will Never Be Another Tonight".

Kristi's "Romeo & Juliet" and "The Seasons" (and pretty much everything from her pro career).

Josee Chouinard's "The Sweater".

G&G's "Vocalise".

Silverstein & Pekarek's Sting medley.

"East of Eden", "Dante's Prayer" and "Hands" from Kween Kwan.

Emanuel Sandhu's "Like I Love You".

V&M's "Tennessee Waltz".

"Une Vie d'Amour" and "Bleeding Love" from Belbin & Agosto.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some/a lot since I've been a figure skating fan since 1988, but this will do for now! :)

B/E Cross Dressing program, B/K Return to Innocence, MK Dante Prayers, Kristi Yam's 100% Pure Love, Josee's Moon River, so many to mention

Holy Crap.. If I had to pick a top 5 this would be mine with @clairecloutier Fields of gold too

Kristi's Pure Love musta been about '94. I can remember that and Doop Doop. But that I think was a competition piece

and yes @Vash01 Ladies: Oksana Baiul The Swan at the 94 Olympics
And Ekaterina Gordeeva skating to Mahler at Sergei's memorial

I love that Oksana said that this piece had become "her business card."

ohhhh yes @paskatefan how could I have forgotten about Kwan's Tori Amos, Winter!!!!

Holy crap @dramagrrl how could I ever forget Josee Chouinard's "The Sweater" AND YESSSSS add another for Kwan.. Jewel's HANDS.... I like the Christmas version.

I love this post and all it contains. Such beautiful skating :swoon:

I also love Curry's Evolution of Skating and Scheherezade exhibitions among many others which are all glorious and not to mention his Fanfare for the Common Man at the 1980 Olympic Games. Totally stunning!

For those who are less familiar with it; here is John Curry's EX at the 1980 Olympics, in somewhat better quality than usually seen.
It is followed, by comparison, with Dorothy Hamill's completely conventional EX program!
