WEAVER AND POJE: The Future is Golden

Isn't Kaitlyn had mistakes in twizzles in FD?
Maybe Andrew waa injuried, who knows? He is much better skater, then she.

This is the way I remember it too - it was after the SD and before the FD. I should go back and check the thread, because we were talking about it when it happened.
I think it was after the free dance had actually occurred but while it was airing, maybe? The announcement was made during CBC's sports programming...put the programming they were showing wasn't live.

Yeah that could be it. I remember watching the FD knowing V/M were coming back. But maybe it wasnt live.

Kaitlin and Andrew have been my favourites ever since 2008 Nats when they took the time during warm-up to simply skate around the rink and wave acknowledgement to the audience, especially the school kids cheering up in the bleachers. You could tell that they were happy to be there competing, and loved their fans. Such lovely people! Good luck Kaitlin and Andrew. I hope that you :kickass: this weekend! :cheer2:

This was my first time seeing their FD this year and holy hell was it smooth. Those lifts were so difficult but were completed with such effortlessness, and every movement was like butter.

I saw Tessa and Scott's dance live at Skate Canada this year and it wowed me then (even with the early season errors). I found them flat at Canadians. WeaPo just knocked me over with their FD. I honestly think that if V/M weren't at Canadians this year, WeaPo would have been rightfully awarded a few more points for that performance.

For sure..it they gave piper/paul 4 x 10.00 in pcs they should have had at least 6. serviously overmarked G/P and undermarked W/P.

I'm a huge V/M fan but I thought the performance of the night belonged to W/P. I'll admit I haven't followed W/P as much this season and I didn't know what to expect from them at the Nationals. The way people were going on, I fully prepared to see G/P pull ahead but watching them tonight, it's clear W/P are still so far ahead of G/P. Hoping they regain some support from the Skate Canada.

I was at Canadian nationals this week and W/P really impressed me. I know Piper was sick but there was such a huge gap in W/P's favour in every aspect, even with the mistakes in the SD. The fact that the judges would have put G/P ahead (they were 3rd because of the technical panel) was the most ridiculous judging of the whole event.

That fix was in a long time ago re:ridiculous challenge scores for G/P but WP did so well technically it didn't work but it still was too close.

As much as I preferred WeaPo, I can't bash G/P. I find their SD very entertaining, and I like their tango interpretation as well (and I love her dress - so unusual to go for an icy blue for a tango but it is stunning with it). I just think that WeaPo are much better (and should have been closer to V/M here).

I just re-watched their free dance. It's their best work. Morozov came up with a fabulously beautiful program for them. I don't know if his time away refreshed him or what but I would have never guessed i was watching something he choreographed. Their look is beautiful and as much as I like Maia and Alex, I think that the 3rd position at worlds could be in jeopardy for them IF Weaver/Poje go clean. He hid the weakness that i had a tough time watching which was that these two do not have intense chemistry. They gelled wonderfully. Andrew really did a great job and Kaitlyn's look and dancing was beautiful.

The point of view was so strong and clear. I loved it. I like him for ice dance a lot of the time and frankly, IMO, he was going to suffer a Linichuk fate had it not been for Kaitlyn and Andrew. I remember asking Adam Rippon's mom what she thought of Morozov and she said " he's a genius". I get it now

One thing, He is so stoic in the Kiss and Cry. I wonder if there is a connection.

Tracy Wilson agreed with your comment (and so do I).

I see a huge improvement from previous seasons. The free dance will just get better from here on, too, so it should be quite something by worlds.

And on a more negative note, all W/P fans should hope that Sally Rehorick is not invited to judge at either 4CC or Worlds. Based on her PCS scores from the free dance (judge #4) she clearly is the chief cheerleader for G/P over W/P. Her marks in the free dance were simply ridiculous, and bore no relationship to what actually happened on the ice. The other judges were at least somewhat objective.

Judge no 1 laura mclellan was also quite a bit lower on wp marks than on gp. As well for their Cosp4 -level 4 there were 4 +3 goe and 4+2 goe but she gave them a -3. I thought it must be a typo but if so days later it has not been corrected.

Another thread was started recently and it seems to be attracting WeaPo fans as well as bashers of both WeaPo and Morozov. I hope the true WeaPo fans will show their love in this thread (hopefully the other thread will die). Obviously, Kaitlyn and Andrew have worked hard on improving and redefining themselves and, have benefitted immensely from their collaboration with Morozov. Personally, I think Morozov is a brilliant coach and the partnership will continue to bear fruit.

I'm here! I don't care for Morozov - I find him offputting, to put it mildly - but I can't deny that their programs with him are lovely, and I'm always in Kaitlyn and Andrew's corner, regardless of who their coach is. Here's hoping for a strong showing at Worlds! :cheer2:

I just saw a beautifully introspective post on one of the blogs, from Kaitlyn's Facebook page. It's a reflection on 4CC and the season to date in general. I'm not sure how--or if I'm allowed--to post it here. It's a must read for every WeaPo fan.

I don't know if there's a rule against links to Facebook, I seem to remember similar posts being linked in other threads? But you could also just share the blog where you found it, as well. As long as it's not from a locked/private FB, it should be fine.
