Watch Party Shuffle Playlist Idea

Hey, I was thinking we should do another watch party this weekend. Except, instead of doing a whole competition, I was thinking that we could just make a playlist of some of our favorite or even not-so-favorite performances and just watch it accordingly. I set a time cut-off of when I will accept submissions. It could be any program from any era so long as there's a YouTube link. What do you guys think? I will also take suggestions for best day and time.

Good idea!

I couldn't make it Saturday, but I'll be there in spirit (and with my submitted favorite programs).

I would definitely be down for this. My only preference would be starting after 1:00 p.m. Central time but it's totally fine if that gets overruled. I will submit programs unless there's a theme that renders me useless (which is certainly possible).

Ok, I've decided to do it on Saturday 2:00pm EST/1:00pm CDT/7:00pm UTC.

Give me your submissions and I'll add it to the playlist. I'll accept anything until Noon EST Saturday aka two hours before I play the videos.

If there are too many videos (I don't know what "too many" means right now), then we can split it and show the second or other parts another day.

ohhh you've reminded me of a suggestion, I might see if I can track down the Stiegler/Stiegler program I loved so much. What was that benefit show that used to happen every year? I think it was from that. I thought that had taught me a lesson about getting invested in young teams but livestreaming of all these Russian juniors makes it so hard to stay indifferent!

eta: The Jimmy Fund! But I don't see the program specifically from that show on youtube although there are some other early performances of theirs.

I like it too. But too many Carmens in a row (too many of almost anything in a row, really) could drive a person around the bend.

Now, too much of Carmen
Can make a man feel ill at ease
One man’s temper might rise
While another man’s temper might freeze :(
In the day of confession
We cannot mock a soul :saint:
Oh, when there’s too much of Carmen
No one has control

Say hello to Valerie
Say hello to Vivian
Send them all my salary :bribe:
On the waters of oblivion

Too much of Carmen
Can make a man abuse a king
He can walk the streets and boast like most
But he wouldn’t know a thing
Now, it’s all been done before
It’s all been written in the book :COP:
But when there’s too much of Carmen
Nobody should look :yikes:

Say hello to Valerie
Say hello to Vivian
Send them all my salary :bribe:
On the waters of oblivion

Too much of Carmen
Can turn a man into a liar
It can cause one man to sleep on nails
And another man to eat fire :angryfire
Ev’rybody’s doin’ somethin’
I heard it in a dream
But when there’s too much of Carmen
It just makes a fella mean

Say hello to Valerie
Say hello to Vivian
Send them all my salary :bribe:
On the waters of oblivion

So, I'm not getting much of a response, so I'm not sure if there's any interest here to have a watch party.

I'm really busy today too. I like the idea, but I don't think I can manage it today.

Sorry VG! I think the idea is great, it's just that it involves a lot of steps: deciding what programmes I would want to choose to represent my taste and/or demonstrate the required level of fan credibility, going to YouTube, finding and watching everything, picking the best performances... I've just not had the energy! :(

I'm going to my sister's today to binge on tv. I used to complain about not enough time to read but not anymore. I will gladly watch anything if you decide on your own list.

Hey guys, I’ll just leave this thread open and we can reschedule when people chime in more suggestions and times they want to do it. :)

how about a set of 'unique music' programs? Such as pieces that only one skater (on the elite level) has used in competition? For example---Rippon & Barber's Violin Concerto or Kwan & Bartok's Miraculous Mandarin. I'm sure others will think of more. Those are just two of my personal faves.
