Assuming no changes since this document was created, judging for these events will occur as follows-

Senior Singles- 9/18 and 10/3
Senior Pairs and Dance- 9/19 and 10/2

Junior Singles - 9/4 and 9/25
Junior Pairs - 9/12 and 9/26
Junior Dance- 9/12 and 10/2

I wonder if Junior Singles for opportunity 1 judging scores are available anywhere, as it is now 9/7...

Ellen Slavicek has been training in the Czech Republic this summer (I assume she is planning to switch countries but nothing official yet, AFAIK).

Chase Finster is focusing on skating (junior) pairs this season, last I heard.

Media release from USFS (videos will be available):

I'm glad the federation is doing this for U.S. skaters. :)

Me too. Russia is doing in-person test skates and plan to have an audience too. I'm not sure how the whole "social distancing" will play into that but I guess they'll figure it out. It's exciting to have that to look forward to and they also have the Russia Cup event planned. Our germy country can't hope to have a live audience any time too soon so I'm glad the US is doing something for the skaters...but they can do even more if they want.

"DIY video" competitions could be something the USFSA leans into during the first half of the season. I mean, the JGP got cancelled, Senior Bs are cancelled and, if I understand correctly, the only GP event for US skaters will be SA...that's not much competing going on in the season prior to an Olympic season.

I suggested this over at the other forum--rather than having skaters sitting around waiting for the bigger competitions next year, the USFSA can host a mini-Grand Prix of sorts this season using this video method. The cost to host events has to be exponentially less than it would be to organize them at venues. I'm assuming they'd need a couple of people to handle organizing the judges and callers and someone to track video submissions, maybe someone to do voice over introductions for the skaters and reveal the scores--all stuff that can be done remotely and probably for a fraction of the cost of hosting a traditional event.

It'd be nice if there could be several different video competitions over the next few months for US skaters. That would give the skaters a chance to get their programs out in front of everyone, get feedback from judges and maybe help keep off some of that lack of competition rust.

I’m sitting here watching the Virtual Nov and Junior competition and again have no idea who is who (especially in Novice). Can anyone identify skate order for me?

Yea, we are definitely getting collectively punished. That's so fun for us. Can't wait for tomorrow when the GP assignments once again don't get announced. :slinkaway:wuzrobbed:lynch:

PS- why are people posting on youtube when they know how often things get taken down? If that person posted on any other sharing platform we probably wouldn't be in this mess right now...
