(Updated) Denis Ten Murdered: was stabbed in the thigh

Some asshole who later on turned out to be a teacher has posted disgusting things in his instagram story about the murder of Denis Ten, supporting the act and even congratulating the murderers. The authorities are after him and after an apology which he also posted on social media but did not give an impression of remorse, he even said he would accept a firing from his job. Whether or not he is going to be fired will be clear after the summer holidays which end on 12th August. https://www.nur.kz/1743687-ucitel-i...sa-tena-policia-vozbudila-ugolovnoe-delo.html

Of course as soon as he published his instagram story (I have no idea what the text said since it was in Kazakh) tons of fans and mourners have reported him which led to him being arrested. He is awaiting trial now.

WHAT KIND OF WORLD ARE WE LIVING IN?! This is beyond disgusting and incomprehensible.

It truly is disgusting and makes me recall in February of this year, Denis was subjected to horrible people's tweets at him, saying that he deserved his injuries and called him a cheater. It's one thing to critique his skating but these people went above and beyond to attack him publicly on twitter. I'm just sad that now that he's no longer with us, there are still sick people like this "teacher".

It was and is horrible. I believe those attacks came from crazed Hanyu fans ("Fanyus"), all from that incident at worlds where Denis was spinning in a spot that caused Yuzuru to move during his practice run-through. I never believed Denis did it on purpose but many people did. At any rate, Denis and Yuzuru shook hands later on and moved on. Even since Denis's murder, there are people on YouTube saying that Denis was a rude, manipulative and terrible person for getting in Hanyu's way.

I like Hanyu, but some of his fans are disgusting. I mean, for chrissakes, Denis was brutally MURDERED.

Denis seems pretty beloved by the skating community. I don't know that Hanyu has made a statement about him; but I have a hard time believing he would be near universally liked if he was known for getting in anyone's way on purpose.

It's sick that anyone would call this out as deserved.

I can never forgive those psychos.

You believe. Your speculation. I happen to follow all kinds of social media network and none of them acted senseless about Denis since the news broke out.

It is your rights to believe in fabricated truth. On twitter, people are still mourning Denis and all the people on twitter I am following are Hanyu's fans. Even Chinese fans who claimed to not like Denis before all told me they're very sad about Denis.

Have you taken a look at that "teacher" account who acted so disgusting as they said? Do you know if he is a skating fan in the first place? That "teacher" might not even know who is the current World Champion.

When you claim something so senseless, have you gave it a second about grouping a huge number of people into one?

No one among the skating fans called whatever happened to Denis as deserved.

Before Olympic, some crazy new fans did not like him and said something not nice but they are uninformed and they might have even forgotten there is a sport called figure skating by now. I guess we can not follow those trolls and scream at every one of them, right?

But none of the fans who stay and stick to the sport (even if they are new and only watch FS for several months) said anything bad about Denis especially about this. I followed thousands of skating fans on Twitter and none of them says anything bad about him. I also happen to read 3 languages and they all appear on my timeline.

Or if you don't believe, you can go on Twitter and Instagram and Facebook, Tumblr... (I happen to stay active on all of these platforms) and look up the tag and his names, everyone is sad about this.

We are all devastated. So please stop making like Hanyu's fans are sickos. The majority of people have hearts.

The teacher's name is Sherhan Baizenov, from a small village school. He speaks mostly Kazakh and poor Russian, and said that when he posted his message he did not know that Ten was a Kazakh national, but rather a Chinese (and he "hates Chinese"). He will be fired as per education authorities, and the court case is not about his message in support of "Ten's murderers" but for inspiring ethnic hate crimes. If he did not include a "chinese slur" in his posting, he would just be a jerk and perhaps fired, but not legally liable.

Thank you very much for your information. I hope this sicko will get adequate punishment. And I hope no one will group him in the group of Hanyu's fans. I doubt he even knows who is Hanyu.

@All: What happened to Denis is so sad. And I have no doubt all of us still feel so so unreal about all of this. Life is so cruel and so unfair. But please do not make it like this whole world is full of sickos. From all the social media I have been following (and because of my work, I work on all kinds of social media platforms) I never see a single heartless comment about Denis and this painful event. Please do not group and accuse the whole group of people from various nations into one. Just because some people do not agree with some certain actions by someone in the past automatically means they are glad to see such a devastating event happen. If you have some contact with any social media platform, you will see that the majority of people are not heartless despite the darkness in this world.

You are right, I haven't heard anyone literally say he "deserved" it.
Nor are the ethnicity based comments seeming to be coming from skating fans.
But it's disgusting that they are happening at all.

As for "none of them says anything bad about him" there are still plenty of people in the youtube threads saying Denis was rude for getting in Hanyu's way. Even as people argue that the videos should be taken down out of respect to Denis people are saying "That he is dead now doesn't mean he wasn't being rude then." For an unintentional act; I'd say that is people saying something bad about him.

Exactly, thank you @Skittl1321 . That was what I was attempting to say. You said it better than I did.

Youtube comment section is the dark place people should not go for. Second, We know this world is nowhere near ideal. And it is sad to say the Youtube comment section is the darkest place on the open web. I guess only the deep weep can be darker.

I am not shocked if the majority of people who commented not nice about Denis several months ago already forgot that ice skating actually exists. Maybe most of them do not even remember the current champion. Sane people should not hang up on words from trolls whose memories capacity might be even less than a bean.

Let focus on the fact that the whole skating community and fans are united over this, even it is a devastating event. The fans who truly appreciate skating will never say such sick words. Their dedication should be appreciated, as well as their goodness and they do not deserve to be grouped and generalized as evil or sick.

On my timeline I still see various skating fans giving tribute to Denis, and this should be some light to focus on.

No one is criticizing all Hanyu fans, @Meoima . I myself am his fan. And you provide all kinds of great information and updates about Hanyu, so thank you for that.

But surely you know that there is a small percentage of really crazy Hanyu fans, that are ridiculously obsessed with him, to an unhealthy degree. It is the same with certain Yuna fans. Some have wished death on Adelina Sotnikova. These are sad facts, as a result of certain "fans" that are actually... sick.

This is no slam on Yuzuru, Yuna or the majority of their fans, who really love figure skating and grieve the loss of Denis Ten.

Agree. I've only seen the tweets in February but nothing after his passing. On other forum, I've seen people say they feel so bad for what they said about him before.

There is an outpouring of sorrow from Japanese fans on Denis's memorial page, put up by @Eislauffan. There is no translate button but going by those that are actually posted in English, the messages are purely supportive. I would assume most of the writers are also Yuzu fans. So as @skateboy says, the nastiness is probably coming from a very small group of people who are unhealthily obsessed. https://www.forevermissed.com/denis-ten/#about

I must say that we were concerned about sick people posting negative comments or hatespeech on the memorial page, you never know. The example of that "teacher" from Kazakhstan tells it all. Some people have no decency and post the most horrible things. Hatespeech has become a real problem, unfortunately.
We are monitoring all tributes on Denis' memorial website and we asked a Japanese friend to check the Japanese entries (and a Korean friend to check what has been written in Korean). Luckily the comments on the website are lovely, touching tributes to Denis.
Please, if anyone notices an unappropiate comment on the memorial page, let me know. In case something slips through. There are hundreds of tributes by now. Thank you.

Thank you so much for setting up the memorial page. Beautiful tribute to dear Denis.

Thank you for setting up the memorial page. If you need someone to check messages in Chinese, feel free to let me know.

The policeman from Astana who was to overview Kudaibergenov's case there 8 days before the murder might be fired: https://www.nur.kz/1744020-mvd-dozn...elo-kudajbergenova-v-astane-mogut-uvolit.html
Just to make it clear. The issue was as following. Kudaibergenov attacked and stole from another man (a victim). According to Kazakh laws, in petty theft or other minor cases, the Victim and the Offender have a right to "arbitrate" and to settle out of court.

Kudaibergenov (offender) asked the policeman to give him Victim's telephone number, supposedly to arrange for such arbitration. The policeman then called the Victim and asked if it is ok to give Kudaibergenov his personal phone number. However the Victim seems to have felt "pressured" and did not feel comfortable for a criminal to have his information (in fear of possible revenge). Now the investigation is about weather or not the policeman was somehow trying to "assist Kudaibergenov's side" and act in his favor/on his behalf.

I checked all the tributes written in Japanese. All of them were sweet and fine so far. It's so much impressive that such big amount of tributes were there. Thanks for all your efforts. I'll continue checking from time to time and tell you if I found any inappropriate one.
