Okay, I hope this selection isn't a cheat as it's the exact same song as @skatingfan5 just posted. But as much as I love Bernadette Peters, I doubt there will ever be a better version of this song than by Carly Simon. It's from her masterful 1981 (and incredibly underrated) album Torch. Released two years before Linda Ronstadt released What's New, which prompted many artists to release albums of standards. But Carly did it first. :)
Love Carly Simon! Why isn't she in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by now (yeah, I know, not every inductee is strictly rock & roll, but ...)?
