The Mao cheer thread #3 - "For the love of skating"

Mao's beloved furry friend, Aero (19.5 yrs old) passed away. 🥲

Aero came into Mao's life when Mao was just 14 years old.
Here is a video when Mao was playfully skating with Aero in 2007.

Mao's "Everlasting33" completed 15 sold-out limited performances in June this year, and a film version has been playing in 56 movie theaters across Japan since last weekend through September 19.

These theaters have excellent acoustics, which makes the orchestra sound very immersive.
The camera work is also very good, and the large screen allows the audience to see angles, facial expressions, and costume details that could not be seen in the venue.
Everlasting33 was a premium show that was only ever held in Tokyo, with a specially shaped ice rink set up in a theater, a live orchestra, and amazing guests, so fans who couldn't make the trip are thrilled to see the movie version.
Mao's previous ice show, "BEYOND," was so amazing that I wondered if she would be able to create a show to top it in the future, but "Everlasting33" far exceeded my expectations.
Japanese fans think it's a shame that it can only be watched in Japan, and I once sent an email to the official website asking that it be made available on Amazon Prime etc. I hope that will happen.

As for BEYOND, it's been a year since the tour ended, the Blu-ray is sold out, and there's been no announcement of a re-release, so I'll post the video of the final performance here for a while.
I plan to leave it up for about two weeks, but I may take it down sooner. Please bear with me if that happens.

The features of BEYOND are:
1. 6 months of preparation
2. Non-stop performance with no breaks or narration
3. Immersive images on LED screens in front of and around the rink
4. Gorgeous costumes
5. Various group numbers
6. Entertainment that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders
7. Many appearances of Mao in the show!
And much more.
One unfortunate thing was that Shu Nakamura, who was good at jumps and sometimes even landed triple axels in the show, was injured before the final and could only perform to a limited extent.

The screening of Everlasting33 at cinemas has been extended until September 26th in some places.
Also, it was great that the Blu-ray was released, but it can only be purchased on the official website and at the movie theater where it is being shown, and there is no information on video streaming at the moment.:(

And here is a video of her first performance at Friends on Ice earlier this month.

"Chandelier" is a kind of song that Mao has never skated to before. She does not usually show negative emotions, but she choreographed this program herself, projecting her true self as she is.

She said, "It expresses my pain. In my skating career, I have experienced not only positive emotions such as 'fun' and 'happiness', but also many difficult and painful emotions. I want everyone to see my powerful skate that expresses those aspects, but also the feeling that 'I will not give up, and even if I have to crawl, I will get my shine back!"
