The Bachelorette - 2022 Two for the Road

Well, it's the first time there's two Bachelorettes, Gabby and Rachel from last season. This might be interesting or totally frustrating. Two of the men are identical twins, but I think they are getting bounced tonight. My practice is to watch one or two of the initial episodes and then ignore the series until the last 3 or 4 last episodes. There should be more drama than usual with two women going after some the same 32 men...and vice versa.

I tuned in waiting for another show to start and got sucked in to the whole thing. I have almost zero background though as I only watched a couple of seasons years ago. I liked the girls, a couple of the guys seem interesting, but then at the end they pretty much gave the whole season away, no?

went to look at Reality Steve's spoilers and as of last evening, I didn't see anything. I usually don't have the patience because so much is contrived, but I'll try to give this a chance.

Is anyone watching this? I'm sure hardcore fans have seen it all, but last night's date was embarrassing to watch! First they get styled by someone I've never heard of, trying on all kinds of silly outfits that had no bearing on the planned date, until he finally ends of up with an ill-fitting tux and don't get me started on that gold thing they picked for her. I thinks she's quite pretty but obvious doesn't have a model body, you'd think wardrobe would be a bit more sympathetic. Not sure they gave her that feathery stole because she was cold or to try and cover it up. Plus, they get there and there are like a dozen champagne glasses at the table - who were they for? Prop styling not working either.

But then the date itself! Such as obvious fake red carpet with a bunch of crew members pretending to be paparazzi - one of the cameras even had the lens cap on. How could they go through that with a straight face? And you know these things often take way longer to film than we see, who knows how they had to do that for? And then of course they are the only ones in the theatre and it's not even a special screening, it's a powerpoint presentation of their baby pictures. On a first date. Yup, that makes sense. It's almost like something else fell through so they threw this to together at the last minute.

Anyway, I'm enjoying this :)

The height of cheese. ITA that the "fashion" picks re the worst and the "stylist" has the worst taste. I also don't understand the comment that Gabby is rough around the edges. I think that she is lovely and natural, if a little unhinged.

I didn't see last season like I said so I don't know what they were like there, but I quite like them both so far. They do seem real to me, even if they are playing along with this whole thing.

Funny to think of what this would be like if it was two guys.

I am still watching, but this format isn't very interesting. We aren't getting enough of either lead to get to know them all that well. With so many dates, we aren't getting tons of in house drama. I prefer Gabby to Rachel as Bachelorette - I think Gabby is more entertaining.
