The 2024-25 Awards Season Thread

The dude grabbing the phone from the woman and then repeating what she said. Worst acceptance speech.

I know. 😒 I bet these two hated working with each other. If they remotely got along, they’d probably would have gone over how the acceptance speech would go.

I love getting to see the costume designer nominees because they always look amazing

Ok except the Gladiator guy who just has a plain suit :blah:

Why are we talking about the costumes when we should be seeing the costumes?

Well the were showing 5 different renderings of each movie behind each of the hosts, which was probably effective in the theater but lost on TV. :shuffle:

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that Paul Tazewell is the first Black man to win for costumes. I think it's because I know there's been a few Black women that have won.

Will be interesting to see if he wins the Tony as well this year for the musical version of "Death Becomes Her." (He previously won for "Hamilton.")

Jesse Eisenberg had been winning a bunch of the screenplay awards so I am a little surprised at this but good for Sean Baker. Bodes well for a potential Best Picture win.

I think that it would have been better if Chalamet had worn a “typical” colored suit with just a flash of a bright color. Especially considering that he could win tonight.

At least it wasn’t a super bright highlighter color.
Really like it lol along with the black shoes lol.
