The 2024-25 Awards Season Thread

I really dont understand how no or next to no awards went to guy Pearce or Jeremy strong having seen all 3 movies

Hollywood loves to honor their own who've been in the fold since they were kids/teens. See: Demi Moore in about 3 hours.

I thought that Culkin was very good in the role, but after hearing him interviewed multiple time, I really think he was pretty much portraying himself in the movie.

His speech was fun, though. I trust him to know whether his wife would think it was cringe. She seemed to genuinely be having fun with it.

I thought that Robert Downey, Jr.'s intro was very nice, but just not a good use of time.

Guy Pearce’s best chance at an award season was probably BAFTA. Jeremy Strong (and well Sebastian Stan) were probably unfairly judged for the The Apprentice, which is unfortunate because the movie (and their performances) are REALLY good.

I really don’t like the way they are introducing the nominees. Whatever happened to name of the nominee and short clip from the film?

Oddly enough, they probably thought the clips would add too much time to the show.

IMHO, the “fourth kid” comment was cringe. Kieran could have brought so many more meaningful things in his acceptance speech.
