The 2024-25 Awards Season Thread

DANG!!! I was wrong about Ebon Ross-Bachrach. ?

Shōgun is on ? ? ?

Guys, I’m wondering if The Bear is done winning awards…….

Too many timeouts in football...switching over....looks like "Shogun" might have a big night.

I’m going back and forth with the football game. I kinda wish they’d clump all the tv categories together because I don’t watch much tv and really don’t care about those ones

Because conclave happens to be streaming right now and the brutalist is 3 1/2 hours long I’m gonna go out on a limb and say conclave wins best picture

It would help The Brutalist if people could actually go see it. It’s not like it didn’t only cost $10M to make and it wouldn’t take that much to make a profit, anyway.

But then again, look at what A24 also did to Sing Sing……?

I don't know why that would make a difference, there are only about 80 journalists who decide the Globes. Plus they have had a recent history of spreading the wealth with their awards.

Supporting Female Actress (TV): Jessica Gunning, "Baby Reindeer"
This was almost half an hour ago but I was making supper so I couldn't say it then. She had a very small part in the season 4 premier of Doctor Who in like 2008 (that I watched in 2010 but I digress) and she didn't have a lot to do but she made her character so sympathetic and compelling in her maybe 5 minutes of screen time and I've half followed her ever since so seeing her success from Baby Reindeer has been so cool.

Sharon Stone looks great, not sure what’s she was trying to do with her eyes though.

Anyone else on the ?? east coast preparing for massive snow tomorrow? Hot chocolate! ❄️

Emilia Pérez wins Non-English Language. Bless their hearts. ?

OK, so Emilia Perez for best foreign film, so then aNora for comedy/musical?

And conclave for drama?

Most likely - especially if Sean Baker (Anora) also wins director. But maybe Edward Berger (Conclave)……
