Wow, that was great! I loved that the audience clapped after the Rhumba pattern, like they really knew what they were watching. I even love the costumes this time, which I was unsure about at ACI. I thought it all totally worked.

In previous Olympic seasons, they really struggled with the SD/OD (sometimes disastrously) up until the Olympics so it's great to see them nailing the hell out of it already.

What a great start to the Grand Prix season!! I love how happy Tessa looked. She's always pretty critical/hard on herself, so you know when she's smiling ear to ear that it was a good skate - even by her perfectionist standards.

They definitely toned things down compared to ACI - choreographically and aesthetically. It allowed the program to breathe a little more than before, which was actually good. Their rhumba pattern is really like no other. It melts on the ice, and their edges are so clean. The ice coverage was insane.

I also loved the changes they made to their NtMiSt; the intricacy and difficulty of movement was increased tenfold. The lift looked more smooth than at ACI, and I actually prefer the ending of them facing the judges vs. pretending to kiss.

Oh, and while I liked the grey print, Scott does pull off black well so I can't complain about the costume change - but I'm glad the designer kept the glitzy design on the top half.

All the happiness for these two! Can't wait for tomorrow's FD after such a sublime performance today. I loved seeing Patch and Marie in the K&C with them as well. :)

Holy smokes! I don't know if it's the camera angles or lighting this time around. It was just sooo good! Incredible, high energy from start to finish. I'm just amazed at how easy they make it look to dance to this. Oh, Scott went all out too lol. (He was rather toned down at practice) So, SO pleased they chose to dance to this style of latin dance! Sets them apart from the others. Wish them best for tomorrow!

Less is more. And so far, it does work way way more.
I still have a huge problem with those costumes that I really don't like at all. And the last music still doesn't fit what they're doing.
I wish now Tessa can stop the way she overdoes her elbow work, it makes her look ... tight and she's not tight. I don't know if I'm clear.
Considering how this SD changed, I do really have very high hopes for the FD now.

Wow! What makes me excited is there is still some room for improvement. I glanced quickly and they received a few 2's and even one 1 in the protocols.

Noticed the crowd acknowledging the rhumba pattern, I wish I could see that live.

As far as the costumes, I'm pretty sure they'll have a second set if they compete in the team SD portion of the team event. I can't imagine them wearing the same costumes twice during the Games.

Also, they've been hinting pretty strongly that this will be their last season. As much as I'll miss them, I'm glad they get to go out on their own terms, skating to programs they love.

Watching all the different commentaries, I think the concerns about it being "trashy" or not classy enough (which tbf, I think was mostly fans of other teams) can be put to rest. This program is very well received, especially when they skate like that!

It was a privilege to watch them live today.
Sitting right in the first row I could see their amazing connection and synchronicity at times just four feet away. They seemed to feed of each other and their expressions were priceless.

I have seen them a few times but today i was in awe, in tears choked up so emotional. The pattern was sharp and amazing. Our section went wild when we heard the marks and knew that they had broken the world record.
