Survivor v32 - Brains, Brawn, Beauty v2

The episode was a little slow. Cool that Joe won a challenge - and how happy the others were for him. One thing about this season, and I do wonder if part of it is due to Tai and his personality (except for what he said to Michele last night) - there seems to be a number of people that get along and know it is a game.
I think it is now set up to be great. 4 people that we do not know who the final 3 or (final 2 will be). And I think all of them are worthy winners. It will come down to the the last few days and the FTC will be key. Based on the editing - I really feel that some things are not known by the whole jury. All 4 people did things that justify their win - but it needs to be communicated. I really hope that FTC is very entertaining and informative and impactful on the jury. Hopefully no Amanda type performances.
I have enjoyed this season. Not the best evah, but not bad. Some villans got blindsided - awesome. The medical stuff has been awful, and hopefully TPTB learn from it.

That person picked the horrible Natalie Tenerelli (the biggest jury goat in Survivor history) to win Redemption Island. I never really took them seriously since.

I don't think we're talking about the same person. The guy I'm thinking (Michel Trudeau) picked Rob as the winner of Redemption Island as of the merge episode (maybe earlier, I'm too lazy to check everything and I know he usually likes to pick a winner as of the merge) and never changed his pick after that. He's not always right - e.g. last season, he was convinced it was Spencer - but his thoughts are worth reading even if I don't necessarily always agree with his winner's pick. (And sometimes when I disagree, I'm wrong and he's right)

So what's going to happen to Mark the Chicken. After the game is over, will he end up in someone's soup pot?

(((Mark)))

There are rumors that Mark ended up as one of the chickens on Second Chances (which was filmed after this season).
Mark got his second chance, only to be eaten (?)

Maybe that's why they switched the airing of the seasons.

LOL! There has also been discussion whether Mark is a hen or a rooster. Julia said Mark never laid eggs and crowed a lot. :saint:
Mark the chicken...I can't believe some sort of conservative heritage group hasn't called for a boycott of the show for promoting gender fluidity.

:wuzrobbed Cydney... didn't realize that I wanted her to win as bad as I did until she was out.

I'll eat my shoe if Aubry doesn't win, clearly the jury was cheering for her during the fire making challenge.

FTC: votes haven't been cast yet, but I think Michelle had the best, most heartfelt answers to the questions. Aubry had a bit of "saying what they want to hear" answers. Tai had a shitload of waffling going on. All 3 got pretty equal amount of airtime and questions, this might be the first season in quite some time where we've had a F3 where there isn't an obvious 3rd place goose egg.

So basically the same thing they did in Nicaragua (season 21? I think)... did the generation thing and in the end it was the younger crowd that won out.

Blah. Jeff's lack of enthusiasm for this season makes sense now.

Not the worst winner, or most boring season, but the last couple of episodes were lacking. I think they did the best they could with the editing.

So who else voted for Aubry besides Joe?

Funny how the most bitter person on the Jury .... wasn't even on the Jury! Boy he sure made sure he got his nasty statement in one way or another. Everyone on the Jury was probably prepared for Final Tribal that night, and he had his nasty little comments all ready to go.

Well I already hate the Millennials tribe just from that brief clip. :blah: But I love the bald guy at the end! What was his name? I'll be rooting for him.

Aubry wuz robbed .

But I figured that Michelle won just because Nick is dating her. He seems like the kind of guy who would go after a woman for money.

I figure that Debby was Aubry's other vote.

I was surprised that Cydney didn't speak at the finale, but she looked really pissed off throughout.

Yes, according to Wikipedia, Debbie was Aubry's other vote. So basically exactly as expected IMO. I was surprised Aubry didn't win. I thought she was useless until about a month ago, then it was like 'holy crap, she's amazing!' She was the best player to me. If I were Tai, though, I'd be 'I told you so'-ing about voting her out.

Insane to think that they had to wait A YEAR between finishing filming and finding out who won (they wrapped on May 7, 2015).

Sia's interruption was annoying, (I thought it was going to be a crew member bringing out Mark) but love that she made that donation. And if there were an award for fan favourite player this season, Tai would have definitely won it. I'm surprised they didn't bring up his putting out the fire sabotage, though. According to Scott (in an interview after his elimination episode aired), not a single person there knew that Tai had put out the fire until the episode aired. Not even him or Jason. Nobody would have ever suspected him to do that.

Ever since she was eliminated and we started seeing her at tribal council I've thought that Julia looks much better without all the makeup - to me much prettier when she was competing than when all made up (petty, I know). Anyone with me? But Michelle at the finale was stunning. Aubry looked beautiful too.

Random question - I don't watch every year, but what would they have done if, for example, the final vote at the finale was 3 for Michelle, 3 for Aubry and 1 for Tai? How would they have worked a tie breaker in the finale? Has it ever happened?

I never go searching for spoilers so I don't know the answer to this question... if they wrapped in 2015, has it been all over spoiler boards that Michelle/Abury/Tai were the Final 3? Or even any confirms that Michelle won based on slips made by Jury members of who they voted for? I don't know how they could possibly keep that secret for a solid year!

And yea, what was up with Cydney at the reunion! She looked totally pissed off to me too! Maybe Jeff intentionally didn't ask her any questions because he could tell she was pissed. If I could see it that well through my TV screen, imagine what that tension was like standing there with her. Yikes!

There is supposedly a process in place for breaking a tie in the final, but it has never happened.

I thought maybe she just looked that way, but everyone else gave Sia and Tai a standing O except Cydney, who didn't even applaud :yikes:.

My husband got a big snicker out of seeing Dr. Obama sitting sort of by himself, looking smug and above it all, and said that is exactly how he pictures his doctor-brother looking most social situations.

Michele: Julia, Nick will vote for her no matter what, and I think Scot and Jason will too. They might vote strategy, but I think they'll respect her ability to stay, plus she didn't actively betray them, and they seem like the type that will give points for being a hot girl.
.....
The safest bet for the other 3 is to get rid of Michele.
Just sayin'.

Also: :blah:

Even though I thought Michele was, in fact, getting the hallowed "winner's edit" for the last few weeks, I actually thought Aubry won it in FTC because she did SO MUCH BETTER than either Michele or Tai (who clearly wasn't getting any votes - but apparently he impressed a lesser-Gaga celeb enough to hijack the reunion for several minutes). I mean, for reals....the only things that I was waiting to hear and Aubry didn't say were 1) she had to regroup and maneuver after losing her biggest ally not once but twice and 2) she convinced Tai to vote against Cydney at F4, even though it would have been a much easier vote for him to just go along with Michele and Cydney. Aubry did allude to it when she rebutted Cydney's question, but the line could have been drawn more clearly. I don't think it would have mattered, though - The jury voted how they were going to vote, even though the far better player made her case.

I wonder if Neal's bittercakes speech after getting booted from the jury had the opposite affect of what he intended.

The reunion was shit, as usual. Very weird that Cydney wasn't asked a single question. Way too much emphasis on Tai. Most of the women looked terrible - it's such a shock after seeing them on the island and suddenly they're back to making themselves look like every other pharmaceutical rep ;) I didn't even recognize Michele until she started speaking.

Millenials vs Gen X....except the clips made it look and sound like Millenials vs Baby Boomers. Whyyyyyyyyy is Gen X so invisible?!??!?? :wuzrobbed Oh, and you kids get off my lawn!

I liked the final 3. Of the last 6 these were my pick. Cheered for Tai, very OK with Michelle, would be OK with Aubry. Thanks to Tai and his "soul searchings" i am starting to understand "alliance strategies".. before that i had no idea what people where thinking when "uniting into clicks"...

Sia Rocks! I hope "Mark" is alive.. could not find any news on him.

I will never forget Tai in the final tribal council sitting there holding his chicken. It was like a boy and his puppy. I was sad that they just left Mark go. They could have done SOMETHING to try to save him.

Ita about Mark. This was completed so long ago that he could have made the trip here and been quarantined and out by now. Oh well.
I would have voted for Aubrey but am happy for Michelle. My appreciation for Aubrey has to do with her wonderful command of language. I simply enjoyed hearing what she had to say because she said it so well.
The show could use more like her.

Jeff Probst said in an interview this morning that they gave Mark to a local family.

I disagree. Even before FTC ever began I pretty much knew Tai had no chance to win and I half expected him to get 0 votes as well. There is a reason nobody was even thinking of voting him out the last couple episodes. He was the obvious goat ever since he flipped on Julia/Scot/Jason.

I was so wishing that Aubry would have gone to Michele and Cydney to say "let's vote out Tai". It was frustrating that it didn't even seem to enter anyone's mind - and the editing leading up to that vote was very awkward, like they were scraping together the only footage they had that might make people think Tai was wavering even though it didn't quite work - but I'm sure Tai is the one person Michele wanted to make sure was in the F3 with her. It would have been an epic F3 with the 3 women though.

Then I'd be bitching about Michele beating TWO people who each deserved to win, instead of one. :p

Well, you know it's a bad season when the most memorable character is a chicken.

I've never heard of this Sia person, but she came off as a giggly Gaga wannabe.

I liked the twists this season, and I guess I'm in the minority on this. The Super idol, the extra vote and the kicking out of a jury member all work IMO. I say that even though none of them had an impact on the game.

Michelle will go down as one of the all time weakest winners.

I'm thinking we may see Jason, Scot and Tai again down the line..... :shuffle:
