What are the rules on competition names?

Because skaters do use nicknames - like Charlie White is actually Charles White (at least I think).

Do skaters have to use their passport names? Can married skaters use their maiden name for competition but still have their passport etc show a married name?

I’m just wondering if there is any reason for Tim only using his Japanese name in Japan

I believe skaters' comp names are the names they use when joining/renewing their fed membership and registering for the season. They're not supposed to be official legal names; they don't have to match their passport.

Apparently there's Twitter chat right now about SOI cheating their fans out? I'm having a hard time following what's happening but it has something to do with not giving refunds but changing dates again

I just read the SIO website carefully. They postponed the performance dates two times, first from 2020 to April 8-11th 2021, then to April 22-25. The final confirmed dates were announced on March 17, while the deadline for the ticket refund has been fixed to March 31.

I can understand why some ticket buyers could be upset on the refund deadline.

That could explain it, someone said it's nonrefundable now and the dates don't work.

Hachinohe shows were announced a few days ago:

Last year the stop in Hachinohe was planned as the very first event in the new venue last year, but later cancelled.

The cast is different from Tokyo shows, e.g No Uno and Kagiyama, but with Koshiro and Miura/Kihara.

Well, each time they changed of the dates they also moved the deadline of refund to a later date, so you could get refund if the new dates don't work.

What I saw many on Twitter is more like "I got a refund because one of the planned date didn't work, but the final date could have worked", or "I got a refund thinking Hanyu wouldn't be in, but since now he is and I want the ticket back."

Oh that would make more sense!
