Skating to Swan Lake

After exploring The Nutcracker, I looked at another overused music- Swan Lake (Tchaikovsky). It seems The Nutcracker was used by more skaters (competitions and exhibitions). While exploring the youtubes I found that some people (even commentators in one case) confuse this with The Swan by Camille Saint Saens (sp?). Of course I did not include The Swan.

This is probably where they skated their best Swan Lake SP. Great speed, lines, postures and unison. My favorite part of the program is the spiral sequence. Elena was just exquisite.

Ugh when the commentator calls them future champions my whole heart splinters in a million pieces. I loved them so much. It's strange also how there doesn't seem to be any tension at all between them in this clip, I know they're happy so maybe that's part of it but I've seen skaters who just accomplished something who still seem mildly disconnected but here they seem enthusiastic and affectionate.

Well that's the past, I'm letting go but it's hard even now not to wonder at times what could have been.
