Skate to Milano OWG Qualifier - Beijing CHN - Ice Dance RD & FD

Mark wants to know what they said, and I'm pretty sure all that was said between them was his "shit"

The program is lacking in emotional depth, and didn't connect to me, but they performed the elements well.

These results are really suspect. And this time, I don't think we can blame IAM. ReedAmbru and HarChan were expected to easily qualify. It's the 3-7 spots that are... Hmmmmmm...

ValKaz - ESP & SK Ice Dance
WangLiu - CHN & IAM long-distance
ReiMaj - SWE & Oberstdorf
IgnaSzem - HUN & Skary Babs
YoMori - JPN & IAMO & Cathy Reed

If this was IAM doing their best politicking, then YoMori wouldn't have dropped the way they did. Obviously, ReiMaj & IgnaSzem got the small fed screw job.

CFSA's price was quite high to host this event, obviously. And Maria Teresa Samaranch must have glad-handed and schmoozed all the people that matter to get Spain their 2nd ice dance spot.

So, Jackie Wong has gone back over the protocols & the programs from Yoshida/Morita and Reitan/Majorov. Both of them got a ! on the choreo character step seq. He's identified the issue for YoMori - and notes they got the same call 2 weeks ago at Kinoshita Group Cup, so this was a fixable error they should have addressed.

He can't figure out, though, why Reitan/Majorov got the call. Any knowledgeable ID experts who care to make a guess? Beyond the obvious CFSA :bribe: (which I think is the real culprit).

Why did Holly and Jason have to skate here since they made the free dance at last year's worlds?
Others can explain it better but I think it was something to do with the Canadian teams and their qualifications.

Anyway Holly and Jason skated incredibly well and I am very happy to see them go to the Olympics.

The best thing about this event is they looked confident, excited and showed more emotion than I have seen them before after they finished. I think this will give them lots of confidence heading into the forthcoming season and Olympics.

They used the ice so well, and filled the space, and I loved the expansiveness of their performance.

99.30 = 4th Place
168.60 = 3rd Place
They also changed her twizzles to level 2 according to the protocol.
Some „interesting“ changes, indeed.
