Skate Canada 2025-26 "domestic" calendar includes Skate Canada International

I wonder why Skate Canada chose Gatineau, Quebec as the site for 2026 Canadian Nationals? Quebec has already hosted several skating events over the past couple of seasons (eg. Worlds, Nationals & Skate Canada)?

Plus, although Gatineau is a pretty place, it would seem like it would make more sense to hold the Pre-Olympics Nationals in a more accessible location like Ottawa?
Half the people who live in Ottawa work in Gatineau and half the people who live in Gatineau work in Ottawa.
In my youth we did all our drinking and dancing on the Quebec side of the bridge :D

I see. ;)

I actually live just outside Ottawa and will likely make the journey over to Gatineau for 2026 Nationals. I was just curious as to why Skate Canada chose Gatineau logistically over Ottawa. Probably less expensive to pay to host it there in terms of the facilities?

I assume because the old TD Place (Civic Centre) is being torn down/renovated (not sure which) and that Canadian Tire Place is too big, expensive and inconvenient and the traffic situation is often terrible.

The latest entry in Wikipedia says, "Radcliff sold Slush Puppie to Cadbury Schweppes for $16.6 million in 2000.[2][5] Slush Puppie was then acquired by J & J Snack Foods, a food manufacturer based in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey, on May 30, 2006."
Pennsauken! I've been there. I also know what a Slush Puppy is. I haven't had one in decades though.

I think all company names on arenas are dumb so Slush Puppy is also dumb but at least it's fun.

I'd much rather go to an event in Gatineau than Kanata (although I do have a fond memory of my mom climbing - with some assistance - over a chain link fence to get to the bus stop on her 85th birthday at SCI in 2008. We'd thought we'd taken a short cut).

I am excited for next season I decided life is short so going to Skate Canada International in Saskatoon, along with Skate Canada Nationals and then the ultimate bucket list - Olympics. I have my interview for my role next month!

I received an email from Skate Canada this morning announcing the All-Event Tickets Pre-Sale for Skate Canada International 2025 in Saskatoon, SK. The Pre-Sale starts Thursday, April 24th at 10:00 am EDT. Email calls out prices starting at $120 plus taxes & fees.
There is more detailed info if you follow the links but not seeing a promo code in that email??

Coming to this thread also hoping someone had more info on the SC2025 pre-sale!

Yeah my other friends checked too. The only option is to follow the links in the email skate Canada sent us and perhaps that direct link sends us to the tickets available in the pre sale?

I guess we're about to find out!

It's letting me add tickets to my chart but not check out. Fun times!

I can pay but I'm not sure if I want to pull the trigger.

ETA: I take that back, I can't pay. I guess that solves my dilemma.

Everyone’s tickets are becoming back available as getting timed out

How? For payment options it won’t let me pay when I press “pay today”

Everyone seems to have trouble about payment, lol
My work IT guys says they haven’t linked the acct manager (skate canada) to the payments. As it leaves ticketmaster. I mean even better tickets now but no way to pay for them lol

I cannot even add my card info in my profile - it says
"This payment method is not available. Please try a different payment method."

Yeah that’s the issue, I emailed skate canada and told them the payment system with them as account manager is not working

OK I am in Asia and it is midnight here.
Can they fix this anytime soon? 😂

ETA OK now I got it.

Anyone have any luck? I got as far as entering a credit card number but then everything timed out and I lost tickets...

Further than me it wouldn’t accept either credit cards for me then timed out and now it says no seats available. I did get a response that skate canada is looking into it. I will try again after my training

Finally got tickets! That was an unnecessary nightmare, which I guess Ticketmaster specializes in.
