The Las Vegas Strip and casinos will begin to reopen on June 4, but this is still a pleasant surprise of hope for the athletes and the rest of us that there could be a 2020-21 international season!
Once Sin City reopens in the USA, there will be no turning back here.
It seems that many Americans really enjoyed Memorial Day weekend and are ready to return to as normal as possible under the circumstances.
Unless there is a second wave of v*r*s transmission, which is how pandemics tend to work.
And some states saw an increase in v*r*s cases immediately afterwards, because many people weren't being cautious enough. The "normal" that people are used to may not be as safe as it was before.

Having just read the protocols for casinos which are planning to open next week, this seems wildly optimistic on the part of organizers.
And having to self-isolate would mean two weeks without training. Not ideal with a major competition upcoming.
Well Considering at least one country is planning to do instant testing when you land in there. I’m not sure why skaters couldn’t be tested before they got on the plane and if they passed they were free to keep coming
I’m not saying that’s what they will do, but I’m sure it’s something they’re considering
Not to mention that other sporting events in arenas (e.g. NHL and NBA games) that would usually be on around the same time have been suspended and may or may not return.
Both NBA and NHL are planning to return and complete the 2019-2020 season. They have some pretty solid plans and I expect both to be on TV by August
The NHL has said that the 20/21 season will start in December, assuming that they are able to go ahead with any hockey at all.Actually for both the NBA and NHL October would be "next season" so the plans being discussed now are for "this season". I don't think either of them have addressed the 2020-2021 season.
True, but the ISU has likely been communicating with its member feds (or at the very least, the GP host feds), so it's possible Zhulin may be tipped off to more info than has been made public.I am not worrying about it either way but the fact that an interview with one person thinks it may be cancelled could probably be offset by interviewing someone else who will say "it will go on". Until the ISU speaks it's also just unsubstantiated gossip.
