Kirll Aleshin has begun working as a coach in Mishin''s group:

Anastasia Skoptsova (Skoptcova) "has not yet decided whether she ends her career this off-season, her coach Svetlana Alekseeva told RIA Novosti."

I don’t believe the skaters who have quads will lose them. it’s possible the next group that can compete internationally in 10 years or so will never have don’t them at all.
Why would loosing triple jumps be different than loosing quads?

She's better than him, IMO. I'd like to see her give another partner a shot.

Yep, she married some Russian tv dude I think recently.
from TV1 - I believe it said. I do not like her partner (Bazin) as he copied other programs and said he did the choreo. This is the first time I saw things about her in an interview. Like some things she said and disliked other things....Their marks jumped this year.

Sinitsina/Katsalapov are engaged. I wonder what this means for their continued competitive career.

Who cares? :shuffle:

TSL. Maybe?

Nonetheless, congratulations to the couple are in order. I hope Mr. Katsalapov now has his anger management and narcissistic issues under control. I honestly didn't know how to respond to this news. Cest la vie.
How do you know that he has his anger management issues under control? It is quite possible that he just learned to hide them better. Besides, after being kicked out from the rink in the U.S., they were training only in Russia, so we wouldn’t know if the anger issues continued or not. Such behaviour is much more accepted in Russia, so their fellow skaters would not make such a big thing as it was while they skated in the U.S. He could be having tantrums on the ice every day and we wouldn’t know.

ETA: sorry, just noticed you wrote ‘I hope’. Yes, so do I, but at the same time I am a bit sceptical…

Opinion piece by Anastasia Panina (June 5) - "The current off-season has already taken at least eight dance couples. RIA Novosti Sport comes to the conclusion that this has never happened in the history of Russian figure skating."

I had no idea they were a couple.

I don’t know if this is serious, or if it’s a sarcastic reference to the homophobic Russian judge(?) who trashed P&C last year by insisting that only two straight people like S&K could depict romantic chemistry on the ice, but I do love that it functions as a sick burn either way.

(Edited to correct initials for Papadakis & Cizeron. Who knew one of the consequences of aging would be that I can no longer reference 4000 different pairs and dance teams by their initials without missing a beat.)

Two questions:
1. Will Nikita wear a bowling shirt to his wedding?
2. Will the wedding be in
The Villages -
Florida’s friendliest home town!

Do they? I don’t think a victim ever deserves her abuser.
I think we underestimate Ms. Sinitsina based on her appearances and demeanour. She is no victim. She gave as good as she got. These two are just very very ambitious athletes willing to put themselves through anything for the result.

Best to just let it be.

I'm disgusted with both of them for their support of Putin and the war, and the way they treated their former training mates.

That still doesn't mean that she deserved his abuse, if abuse there was. What he is believed to have done is never justified.

I hear ya.

I don't know how many people can assume he is an abuser because he has a temper. Maxim Trankov discussed the fights that he and Volosozhar had and he said that she slapped him. I'm sure it gets very intense during training, especially if an element is not working. I had to do an internet search but it looks like there was one incident years ago. He's older now and had to compete with a back injury. I'm sure he relied on Viktoria a lot for these games and they achieved a medal together.
I don't understand why they got the scores they did. How did they score higher than the Americans, the Canadians and the Italians? And why higher than their teammates S/B? He is so slimy.
When I watched their skates with fan cams, they look like a very fast team on the ice and their presentation is very good. I like Step Buks better, however there are fan reviews who say they skate slow on the ice.

I don't know if Nikita is an abuser or not. Assuming the stories were true, I'd like to believe those that say he's grown up since the Zueva era, for both Viktoria's sake and his.

The Putin rally was off-putting , but what really killed it for me was the interview that Nazarova and Nikitin gave to allezfred and his husband .

That being said, I hope they are happy together and become better people.

None of which has anything to do with the question of whether he is an abuser.
I'm not going to label someone who makes a mistake as an abuser. She has been with him for years and knows him best. I hope she has the confidence to leave an abusive relationship. I wouldn't assume the worst unless he has more recent stories about abuse.
