Plushenko does a lot of things I disagree with, but his message to Muravieva is what a good coach should do. Of course he and Mishin have always had a good relationship. His parting words might not have been so encouraging if she'd gone to a different coach.

Many blessings to Aliona on her way to motherhood!

On personal note, I do feel sad that her brilliant talent as a single skater was so short.
I always wonder why all these wealthy Russian emigrants never considered to help her when help was needed to get her out of Russia and Tutberidze camp.
There is nothing left as to hope she will be having a good post competition life and career, and of course, wonderful family.

I am bummed about the Worlds that was cancelled due to Covid. She certainly had a shot at the world title that year.

She actually has a good possibility of a career as a pair skater. She really improved in just two years of skating pairs. Her issue wasn't just Tutberidze. Moskvina said she has the skills and talent to succeed at pairs, but she would never take her as a student because of the drama she brings with her. It all depends on what happens post Olympics, but if Russia is back to full competition, and either or both of Boikova/Koslovskii or Mishina/Galliamov retire, then Kostornaia/Kunitsev could be a top 3 pair team in Russia. Maybe. Coaching is the issue since she's made a reputation for herself. It all depends on what they want to do.

...hmm... as far as I remember interview with Tamara Moskvina she said that it is not enough for a pair girl to have good or excellent technical skills and talent, that it is also utmost necessary to interact with a partner, or, like we do say "to be as one" and Moskvina very diplomatically/indirectly pointed out that she does not see this quality in Aliona, nor she sees in Aliona ability to overcome psychological challenges in partnership.
Of course, I have read this interview in English and, perhaps, there was something missing in translation.
If honestly, I was very sad to hear Moskvina's opinion... I wanted to hear only good or very good! Anyway, it does not matter at this point of time- let Aliona have blessed way to her motherhood now.
