Ross Miner Out Of Olympic Team (OFFICIAL)

Adam says Jan. 6ths are cursed for him and he will henceforth annually spend Jan. 6 in a remote hilltop doing yoga meditation.

Zhou roomed with his mother.

Wow biggest nonsense I've heard from USFSA. Since when have they started to think in this way?? It was always nationals results for them in the past and now they can't even put the national silver medalist as the first alternate after pushing him off the Olympic team??
I think Mirai would beg to differ that it has always been nationals results. And Ross's coach!

I like that they are explaining how the criteria was applied.

Well then, so is Ross because of his international record. What’s your point? And my Olympics choice after last night was Nathan, Ross, and Adam. Vincent had to many underrotations.
The point is they are both journeyman why not go with Miner???

I was one that was making the case for Rippon over Miner for the Olympic team last night. That being said making Ross 2nd alternate was just kicking him more when he's down, aside from that, there's been more than enough evidence this Olympic cycle that Jason Brown is usually injured by this time in the season, so making him 1st alternate seems like an idiotic idea both media wise and strategy wise IMO.

I don't understand those of you who are questioning whether anyone will watch nationals any more. Was there not amazing skating at all ranks of the competition? Is Ross' skate any less amazing because it didn't open another door for him?
Yes! Because it was pointless!

This is what happens when you create committees, at least in the US. People like the perks and power that comes from being on the committee, so the committee needs to justify its existence. They didn't have to use their power in pairs and it would have been too controversial in ladies so this was the opening, and now they are tinkering in all sorts of ways that are unnecessary with the alternates. We may not see an Olympic team named straight off the podium for many years.

Brennen asks, and Chen answers they are all just trying to make Raf happy. Props for Raf for creating a friendly yet competitive atmosphere.

ETA: Adam gives props to Raf for being able to mentor such two completely different skaters as himself and Nathan.

Rippon is a total choker with no talent

You know, I'm beginning to enjoy his selection even more knowing that you won't be able to get your knickers out of a bunch between now and the end of the men's event in Pyeongchang. Can't wait to see your nasty comments on EVERY future article mentioning Adam like you did with Evan. For years...

And somewhere, Evan Lysacek and Vera Wang are probably popping a bottle of champagne knowing that your petty crap is finally being re-channeled to another "quadless journeyman." Have fun raising your BP to stroke level, baby.

ETA: For those not in the know, casey made it a habit to go into nearly EVERY article written about Evan for YEARS and do the "quadless" rant. And he's already started on Adam in USAToday.

What is the point of Nationals now? This is completely different than the 2014 Wagner/Nagasu decision. Adam Rippon doesn't have the BOW resume Wagner did in 2014. Yes, it's better than Miner's but it's not that outstanding to justify this decision.
