RIP CHARLIE WATTS

Ah, another part of my youth gone. To his credit, he eluded the scandalous image of his bandmates, and branched out into off-band projects (hear his CD Live at Fulham Town Hall for some great jazz instrumentals).

I am crying so much.
He was a true master of his craft, but most importantly, a decent and honourable man with a lot of style.

I had to get out my copy of Keith's autobiography and re-read the part where Charlie punched Mick Jagger in the face .
It's an entertaining story: https://www.grunge.com/446431/why-c...w0JFM3TA6jKlflsTyZ0MO7Jx9hkrt3o3wPkOOFt_xpqwM

I am so happy I got to see the Stones twice, in 2007 and in 2017. Charlie has always been a favourite of mine. He is probably one of few rockstars who have not cheated on their wives.

May you rest in peace, you wonderful man!

I went to their Tokyo dome concert. I don't know why I'm surprised. He was the coolest Rolling Stone. RIP.

The Rolling Stones are going on tour and I remember reading that Charlie wouldn't be going with them. I thought at the time that was really weird.

I read online today that every time you smoke a cigarette 15 minutes of your life is taken away and given to Mick Jagger. How that guy keeps it up is beyond me.

Jagger has been having a healthy lifestyle for a while now.

Who amazes me is Keith Richards. How on earth did he survive all of his shenanigans? I read his book and was fascinated, disgusted and entertained at the same time. This guy will survive all of us.

Ronnie Wood's track record is not too shabby, either.

Anyone else saw the Stones perform virtually for a big televised group concert, was it late last year? Not sure if it was their last performing event and it wasn’t an ideal set up, but they still sounded great to me and Charlie Watts looked blissfully happy. I hope he was.

I always loved the Rolling Stones. I even had an 8 track tape of their greatest hits that I played constantly using the 8-track tape player in my car. I totally loved Beast of Burden and Shattered.

When they came out with the hit song, Angie, I was totally mesmerized because my friends would literally sing the song to me every time they saw me. I especially loved listening to Charlie Watts play those drums!

I will miss him so much, and the band won't really ever be the same without him. ??
