RIP Angela Lansbury

I first became aware of her in State of the Union. She worked with two notorious scene stealers - Tracy and Hepburn - and managed to bury them in almost every scene she was in.
I also loved Murder She Wrote as did my aunt, who saw her as an example of a woman living a full and satisfying life well past middle age. Jessica Fletcher, in Lansburyā€™s hands, was a steamroller, but she could disagree without being disagreeable and had a strong sense of her own worth. Her character taught me a lot.

My mom always watched Murder, She Wrote every Sunday night on CBS until she passed away in 1987. Angela Lansbury was her favorite actress of all times.

My mom loved her from the beginning of her career, and because of that, I was named after her. I always watched Murder, She Wrote with my mom. We also watched all of her movies together whenever they aired on TV. Mom totally loved Bedknobs and Broomsticks! šŸ˜

I will miss her dearly. RIP Angela Lansbury.
